I like it because we are short on chairs, plus it's machine washable which means no scrubbing dried food off of it!
We have something similar that we used with Kearnan when we got tired of tripping over the highchair all the time (when he was little he would fling himself around and try to stand up at dinner so we invested in one of the wide based highchairs with a 5 point harness to keep him safe). Ours is hard with padding and vinyl, but I don't think I would trust Tharen in it right now. I may have to look into that one, it looks so much more comfortable.

We love our bumbo for helping Lexi to see what's going on when I am busy doing something else.

We use our Bumbo occasionally, for five minutes or so at a time. M doesn't last much longer than that in it, and if he gets tired of it, yes, he can pop himself out of it. We live in an extremely small space, so I'm never too far away that I can't see/hear him about to do this. Our problem is that we practice EC, and unless he's just gone when I put him in, he seems to think the Bumbo is a potty.

I debated whether or not to get it, but since we literally have no other baby containers I thought it might be useful. My back needs a break from time to time! I liked the fact that it didn't have a bunch of overwhelming, electronic noise-making toys attached to it. We have a nice clip-on chair too, but haven't gotten it out of storage yet; I think it wouldn't provide enough support for DS just yet. Plus, there are only so many places (i.e., one place!) we can attach the clip-on, so we're sticking with the Bumbo for now.

Lexi sat in the Bumbo this evening while receiving nebulizer treatment for her very nasty respiratory virus. I was right there cooing at her (and she was happy as a clam, gas mask and all) but it made me laugh.
