It looks like our little guy is almost officially out of the woods!!
While he is still smaller than his identical twin, his blood flow no longer stops between beats and doesn't backflow anymore...his fluid level is really low, but stable, and he is even more active than his brother! Last week we found out his dopplers (blood flow studies) were virtually normal, and this week we found out he's sllloooowly catching up to his brother in weight!
It's so nice to see our Maternal-Fetal specialist smiling and guardedly *optimisitc* for once (we've been through a lot with these guys). And they are almost certain that whatever happened with the boys' placenta, it's NOT Twin-to-Twin-Transfusion, and our smaller guy is outgrowing his IUGR.
They've given us a new 'goal date' of 34 weeks instead of 26!
I know that a highly medically supervised pregnancy is upsetting to some folks (it's been pretty upsetting to me during the process too), but...I'm so happy with our little ones' progress that I couldn't help but share.
And...we finally have names! Thomas for the bigger guy, Dylan for our little fighter! ;>
