Shoes (sort of a spin-off)

The thread in The Childhood Years got me wondering.

How many pairs of shoes do your kids have each. If you answer you can tell about the kinds and do mention if its a boy or a girl.

My dd's have so many pairs it's really

They each have

Sneakers for fun (like High Tops and Puma Walking Shoes0

Running Shoes

Casual Flip Flops

Dressy Flip Flops

Merrell Pull Ons

Crocs

Birkenstocks

Real Dress Shoes (Heels)

And that's in the Spring. In the winter they all have two pairs of boots (one for dress and one for play)

Sneakers ( though oldest ds just got heelys as well for his bday)
Lands End Mocs
Snow Boots
Dress Shoes
Hiking boots
Flip Flops
Sandals

Before ds was 3, he usually just had one pair of seasonal shoes. Now, he has sneakers, water shoes, last year's sandals that he hasn't quite outgrown, clog slippers with soles so can be worn outside, and a pair of rainboots. He also has some random shoes that are too big, waiting for him to grow into. He has more shoes than usual because of good luck at thrift stores. Also, now that he is older, he needs more than one pair because he is harder to carry if he got his only pair of shoes wet and we are waiting for them to dry. My goal tends to be sandals and something closed toe for summer, and boots and shoes for winter. I prefer casual non-sneaker shoes that work both for play and dress occasions. This summer, I thought I would go with water shoes instead of sandals

My Dd has a pair of old plastic flip flop sandals, new casual sandals, and two pairs of tennis shoes/sneakers. My Ds has 2 pairs of sneakers.

One pair each plus rainboots.

I'll only buy good fitted shoes for them and am not prepared to waste money on fashion shoes that are made in sweatshops and will end up in a landfill one day..

One pair works for us.

Well, they each have at least 3 pairs of soft shoes each, and a pair of "play" sneakers, "good" sneakers, and dress shoes.
Now if I had a girl...hoo boy...not sure I would even admit to how many pairs of shoes she would have. LOL

One pair of sneakers for each boy here too. In the summer, I might get sandals or water shoes. They have winter boots for the winter.

We had a bit of a problem one day when my older sons shoes got wet and dirty playing in a park before school. I had to send him w/ snow boots that day and picked up a pair of sandals at the consignment shop but he refused them anyway.

Nice to see that we're not the only one-pair family!

I have a 6 year old daughter.
She has the following:
snow boots (which are getting too small)
rain boots
1 pair of tennis shoes
1 pair of sandals (casual)

I would like dd to have a pair of dress shoes too but honestly in the past she has outgrown those before wearing them more than once because we just don't dress up very often. If we have an occasion we'll probably buy some dressier shoes.

We're another one pair per child household. We buy them each one pair of well-made shoes. In the winter, we buy inexpensive snowboots. In the summer we add a pair of sandals.

I actually wouldn't mind branching out and buying some playshoes. But dh is vehemently opposed! His father owned an orthopedic shoe store, so our children can only wear shoes that he would have endorsed.

ONE

a pair of knock-off Robeez. Almost worn through, the first hole just appeared....Our New Peddodles should be here by next week **crosses fingers**

**I** also have ONE pair of shoes. When they get holes, i will go buy another.

My ds has a pair of running shoes for outside play, an indoor pair for school, a pair of rubber boots (plus another pair in the next size up that were just given to us) a pair of winter boots and a pair of sandals.

Dd has 2 pair robeez, one pair of running shoes, one pair of fur lined mucklucks for winter and a pair of rubber boots

They each have a pair of slippers (sheepskin lined), a pair of school shoes (they wear a uniform, so the shoes are plain black leather - very sturdy), a pair of sandals and a pair of runners.

My son has 1 pair of shoes per season. I look for the most well made and versatile shoe I can find and usually pay quite a bit of money for it. Ds wears them until they don't fit or they are inappropriate for the weather. I feel good about paying more for quality and doing without quantity. At the moment ds also has 1 pair of galoshes at his request, used more as costume than footwear.

The baby has 1 pair of Robeez.

I'm almost embarassed to answer this

My son (18 months) has...um...five pairs of shoes

1 pair of Striderite sneakers
1 pair of Striderite white walking shoes
1 pair of Robeez shoes
1 pair of Robeez sandals
1 pair of snowboots (which he has actually outgrown)

My daughter has 2 pairs of shoes: 1 pair of baby robeez (to keep her socks on her skinny little feet so they don't get cold) and 1 pair of white strapped keds to go with her Easter dress

: A lot. I think maybe eight or nine. Dd is 4 and she loooooves her shoes. She spent her last gift money on shoes rather than toys.
I on the other hand have two pairs, one for work and sandals for everything else.

DS has one pair of SR sneakers and one pair of sandals.

DD has one pair of SR sneakers, one pair of sandals, and one pair of T-strap Keds (her "dressy" shoes).

I'm just not a big shoe person.
