Playdoh stuck in carpeting-Help!

Ds's father bought him playdoh. It got mashed into the carpeting (I live in a rental!) and it has dried rock hard.

Does anyone know how I can get this stuff out of the carpet???

Thanks,
Liz

I'm not sure if there is an easier way than picking it out, bit by bit with your fingers. I have lived with playdough in some of my area rugs for years.

Can you do a google search for cleaning tips?? We have had both silly putty and slime ground into my youngest dd's rug and got them both out with help online. Here is one link: http://www.fabriclink.com/carpet/Playdough.html -- there probably are more. Good luck!!

Ack, I don't have those kinds of chemicals in the house. I have witch hazel...That's about the strongest stuff I have. LOL.
I can not leave this in the carpet or I will lose my security deposit when I move out. grrr. I guess I'll try a butter knife later.

Coming to this a bit late, but we have had play doh in the carpets more times than i can count. just let it dry up and you should be able to pick it out of the carpet relatively easily. and if it's REALLY in there, you'll have to take a comb to it and cut out the really matted, gunked up bits.
