i use to read all of his books, along with Stephen King.

I've never read his older stuff, but I have read some newer. Good, but a little "light" and predictable for me.

some of them are better than others. i like his ones with the dude who can't go out in sunlight, what, 'seize the night' & the other. i think those were by far the best & i hope to see more of that protagonist.

I agree that he's a predictable and light read. Not as good as King but lightyears better than John Saul.

I like his writing, I didn' think it was predictable.

I used to read everything by Dean Koontz - now I can't stand his stuff. I think he has three incredible books - all from early in his career. Lightning was amazing. Strangers was wonderful, and Watchers was excellent as well. My uncle gave me all three of them years ago, and I loved them. Couldn't wait to read more of his stuff.

So much of his more recent stuff seems to be so slasher/gory/stupid. There was one book about this guys with an ax following a father/son pair around the country. He stole their map - there was nothing nteresting about it. No plot, not surprise. He just got weird.

I think he was trying to turn out a book or two a year and the quality just wasn't there.
