yes, Mamita, I admit my typing skills have rusted severely in four months! But I will soon be back up to par!

I am a spelling snob, not too much on punctuation!

Above Rubies...I guess it's a Christian mothering-focused magazine put out by a grandma in New Zealand with some focus on healthy living. Is that a good description, Bama? I've only read one of them.

Haha, Michelle! You are so hooked! Just wait till you get to the season finale I'm even tempted to talk dh into getting us hooked up with cable again, but then I will be watching the episodes out of order :

i have been tempted to rent the season one.....i like lost too!
Where is my capitalization?

Above Rubies....Christian, homemaker/mothering based support magazine. Free to anyone who writes and asks. Excellent magazine. They also sell tons of great books and music. There are two daughters of this grandma who sing cool music, and it is based out of Tennessee, but used to be from New Zealand.

Let's see:

I had a c-section too and was not upset. I mean, I would've loved a birthing center non-interventionist birth, but once I swole up and my blood pressure shot up, I had to go to the hospital and after 30 hours of labor and two hours of hard pushing, I was happy to have it over. He just wouldn't move and never got below 0.

Royce hasn't been sick in a bit, knock on wood, but he's just not sleeping well at night. I think he's uncomfortable in our double bed squished between me and DH because he slept really well in the king bed in the hotel rrom we had this weekend. I'm trying to fix the bed situation, but we have to save a little cash first.

Spent the weekend with my MIL who is so sweet but insists on messing with the baby--he has a blocked tear duct so his eye drains, and at one point int he weekend I caught her trying to wipe it with a dry scratchy napkin-and she wondered why he was crying.

nothing really exciting to post. we looked at a house last night that we really like. now it's up to the bank. lets hope that they don't take too long. it's on 5 acres with a big storage building/garage thing. it's got it's own pond. it would be perfect for all the gardening we want to do. ds is getting more teeth. the top inscisors are poking through. so that brings us to 4 on top and still those same 2 on the bottom: he's not happy about all of this either, lol.

baby question....are any of your dc's "talking" yet? ds can only say mama. and mmmm sounds. no da pa ca ra nothing. is that normal? i talk to him all the time but everytime i say "dada" he replies "mama". i say "kitty" he say "mama". i don't even know if he associates mama with me or if it's just a general word. he will poin to things he wants though. signing isn't working and we've been doing it for quite awhile. any ideas?

welcome back bama and nancy! i have missed you both. bama- please be kind to me- i know my spelling is atrocious (ha) and i try to beleive that no one is really paying attention.

nancy- i was just thinling how strange it was that we didn't have any early walkers- louis must be adorable toddling around. i can't stop from laughing when i see young babies walking- it seems like such an outright defiance to nature. and then coupled with that prideful and goofy "i did it" smile- really funny.
i've been reading a book called "pure heart, enlightened mind" have you heard of it? it is really moving and beautiful- the journals and letters of an american-irish woman who becomes a buhdest monk and saint. that is where the budah nature comment came from.
also- you are right, now that warm weather has come, i am soo happy to be out here in the woods. everything seems so bright and alive. eisa and i have been outside all day everyday all weekend. i even got a sunburn yesterday. plus, we met some neighbors who only vacation here and they gave us permission to use there river access which has a natural pool. it is really beauiful.

so, our new show is 6 feet under- not keeping up with your pace, michelle, but we are flying through the first season. let me tell you- it is not the waltons.
we used to watch alias and often caught the end of lost (which played just before) but i never could "get" or get into it.

how is louis adjusting without dp? oh, i looked at the pictures and he is such a beauty! kissed by the sun gods.

so, my mom is coming this next weekend and i am looking forward to it. i say so many rotten things about her, but i miss her too. i am worried though b/c she really wants to bbsit while hilger and i go out and i am just not comfortable with it. no cell reception and i don't think she would call if dd cried anyway. sharron anne- how is it going with your mom and joey?

bonnie- i hope everyone is feeling better!

charlote-hello!we attaced our crib to the bed and are sleeping much better

off to library hour--

Good morning!

MCS...I will be kind! I just saw that Grace had that misspelling under her profile and knew I was going to have to see it every time I was on here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!: Ok..we can let it go now....I admit to being a bit OCD.....

Annabelle..I really hope you get your house. A home of our own is way in the future for us..We have to wait for a couple more promotions before we can settle in. So this is just a temporary, albeit nice stopover for us.

I really miss our families. No grandparents nearby...we would love a date! Kid free please. My mom and grandma are just eaten up that we are all the way up here.

emmy...where in the world are ya? Is your computer fried again?

sleep::: We had ds in our bed often until about seven months. He had a large glider rocker type cradle in the corner of our room. He slept there til over seven months, simply because he loves to be in a small confined space to sleep. He was also safe there because he couldn't roll or anything until much later. This was during his developmental difficulties. Once I was able to move dd to a toddler bed , I put him in the crib and he has done fine since.

OK, you guys are making me seriously think I am missing out on lost. I might have to tell DH to netflix those DVD episodes. I'm desparate to watch something in the mornings when I'm on the treadmill. I finished all of the coupling episodes. (the bbc version) really made the time go by fast. I'm tired of watching the news in the morning. I had some DVD's for work that I had to watch anyways and now those are almost done too. I wish I could take the DVR stuff I have upstairs and watch it at my treadmill.

OK, back to work for a moment and then I'll be back!

Mamita~ I am glad you like lost! Isn't it insane! Can you imagine being stuck on an island! Although something is off about it! Its not all gilligans island there is something about this island. I LOVE that show! Its an all new episode tomorrow! you know at the rate these shows are being put on DVD people won't bother with cable anymore! Just put in the dvd and watch commercial free and rerun free! (Lost has a LOT of reruns! A LOT!) I love Charmed too have you checked that out! There would be enough there for you to check out! Thats been on for something like 10yrs! It is coming to an end soon! Its so good!

Well the Kiddos were sick right through to Sunday night. They did seem better and then sick again. How do you get rotovirus? Interesting.....DH is sick now though so doesn't that mean that its probably a flu bug or something?

Well we are having a plumber come and fix the kitchen sink. The person we bought it from didn't have it done as we had asked and she dropped silverware down the drain! WTH?!!!

Well I personally am just to tired for more children but I have two! I remember with ali by the time she was one I felt she was all grown up and wasn't a baby anymore and I wanted another one! Won't catch me longing for another baby right now I look forward to being able to go back to work and have a life! Two is much differant than one! One is just like an accessorie and two is work!

Well enough about all this I have to get going! Hope you are all doing great

Gwen says "dehdeh" for baby and will say "deyuh" if I point to and say chair. She still cries "mamama" when she wants me and I could swear I have heard her say "hi dad" in her own dialect of course, when we go wake him up some days.
Schuy says DADADADADAH all the time....MAMAMAMAMAH when he wants me. And has been known to say Baba. Anne....what he is doing is perfectly fine. He just loves to yell MAMA!

I admit that when 6 Feet Under First came out several years ago, we had Showtime and I watched pretty much the whole first season! I lost track though.

rotavirus: Very common in March around here, and transmitted easily among small children....... fecal matter is right! Little kids are notorious for having filthy hands!

Hey you guys. I'm at work, so no time to read and catch up with everyone, but I wanted to run something past you guys....

I'm thinking of going through the certification process to become a Bradley instructor. I used the Bradley Method when we had Joey and I really seriously love it. And love the idea of helping to empower other couples to have a natural birth....

Thoughts? Pros, Cons? I'm having a tough time weighing the pros and cons because I feel pretty passionate about this

SA-i think it'd be awesome!

thanks for the reassuring on ds' speech development. i also wondered if he'd learn more sounds once he gets his top teeth down.

another odd kid question...ds picks up everything with his mouth! an in, bends over and grabs it with his teeth! he eats off his tray like our cats eat off the floor! he also loves to suck on the knobs of the entertainment set driving me endlessly crazy worried that one will come off in his mouth. we check them several times a day to make sure they're tight. he also enjoys licking the leather couch anyone else have an over-orally fixated child? i know putting stuff in the mouth is normal at this age but geez, he seems a little extream.

Sha - go for it!

oht here, too...

Cully is saying "dada" and "mama", but it's sporadic and not all that consistant. It's usually "mamamamama", said with a bit of a whine.
He's said "dada" twice now, and it just melts dh's heart!

Sam didn't speak til she was almost 2 - she had tests scheduled and everything. She just started late, she was a very physical kid (walking at 9 months), so I wonder if that's why the speech part was delayed a bit.

The top teeth are KILLING us over here. We can feel them and practically see them, and he's drooling like a maniac again, and being cranky. Just nothing coming through yet. He's sleeping pretty much the same as he has been, snacking during the night but doing decent stretches. We're fine in that department.

TV - I am addicted to Lost, been watching it since the series premiere. I LOVE tv, and I'm not ashamed to admit it. : I used to watch 6 Feet Under, and after the 4th season they just sort of lost me. I love Peter Krause though. I'm also addicted to Grey's Anatomy - best show on TV right now. I like the Apprentice (Trump is very much like my boss, so it's funny to watch) and CSI. We watch a lot of tv at night.

mcs - yeah, I have that problem with my mother, too. I won't leave my kids with her, though, not even Sam. She's just not careful enough. And it's not just me being paranoid, my mother's just...it's just not an option.

Ok, I have my first two piano students this afternoon so I'm going to go prepare!

Titus licks the leather couch too

I swear that boy says every sound in the English language, and some from a tongue clicking bush tribe in Africa too! He says Mama and Dada, plus bah, blah, gru, gluck, gitticka, ra... yeah, he says alot.

We were looking at some books last night and he kept pointing to the eyeballs on these elephants. So I said "eye" and pointed back and forth from my eyes to the elephant's eyes. Then we went through the whole book and when I said "eye" he pointed right at all the other animal's eyes! He might not know how to crawl, but he's darn smart!

Plus when I say "bonk" he smiles and head butts whatever he is closest to: the wall, the tub, my forehead
