Anybody starting ttc this month (May)? - Page 6

Elizabeth & Wombatclay: Sorry it didn't happen this month...

To everyone else, good luck on the staying zen thing. I agree that no hpt in the house is CRUCIAL for waiting. Its the same thing with no ice cream or candy in the house for me!

Cheers, E

I agree having them in the house is hard... but I really try to use the internet cheapies so that I dont spent too much money on tests (no dollar stores around here, darnit!). But they are a terrible temptation. I should get my friend to hang on to them for me and not let me use them until Monday.

I am trying to focus on what I will be able to do next month if I'm not. Really the due date I would prefer is further along in the year (more towards March or April really) ... I am going on a retreat mid-June to which I could bring a pitcher of cosmos ... I wont be queasy for my DD's birthday party or my parents' visit ... it will be easier to conceal my pregnancy until we're ready to tell once its summer and we dont see our usual crew as frequently...

I still want to test.

Hi everyone

I kind of fell off he face of the earth.. Back now. My daughter has been sick with pneumonia and is now on penicillin and is getting better.
I also took a step back from all the obsessing as I had no sign of O and had no idea if I would O on cd 10 or cd 30. But now I have EWCM - Usually that sets in around 5-6 days before O so I am hopefull and will start POAS the OPKs tomorrow!

I have a long way before I can start the HPT-obsessing.. Will watch as you all get bfps then hehe..

Hi mamas,

I was out last cycle, I got to 12dpo (haven't had a LP that long in over a year!) and finally my cycle ended. I was so relieved to just know!

I'm on CD6 now.

may i join in?

i'm 29, and we're just ttc #1 starting this month. i'm cd5 right now, and am pretty regular, so i'm hoping for the best!! Ideally, i'd love to give birth in early spring (farm season gets pretty hectic) so we'd better get a move on!

My body is teasing me!

I woke up yesterday, with a temp dip (still above coverline). Had the usual IS all day. Just before bed I had some bright red spotting, but just a little.

This morning, I woke up nauseated and starving, and my temp is higher than it was before the dip, but am still having some bright red spotting! :

I did have implantation bleeding with both my other kids, with my DD it was enough that I told my hubby we were out because AF would be arriving anytime and it just never did (I usually spot before AF for at least a day or two). So I cant confirm I am out, or in, yet.

I dont even really mind if I'm not pg, I just want to KNOW!

How many days after implantation should you wait to test? I may do a Mother's Day present to myself tomorrow, but I doubt it will be accurate (10 or 11 dpo depending on if you believe FF or TCOYF's software... I think 11.).

~*~*~*~*~It's Cycle Day Monday~*~*~*~*~

What day is it for you today?

Today is CD 21 for me, 9 dpo. The good news is that my temps are UP. My coverline is 97.6 and my temps have gone... 97.9 - 97.7 - 97.9 - 98.0 - 97.9 - 97.7 - 97.9 - 98.3 - 98.2

My cycles are usually 26-27 days so I'm just a few days away from testing :

CD 24 here, temps are still going up. I had some spotting a few days ago but its now gone. I feel tired and nauseated sometimes and off my tea (which never happens!). I really think I am. I am 12dpo today, tested yesterday & today and got those "is this a line or an evaporation line?" results both days! : (I used saveontests, which I know from my previous pregnancy dont seem to really test at 20miu like they say! but I've also never seen an evap line even if I dig them from the garbage later. ) From my body though, this is awfully familiar and if AF shows today or tomorrow as she would do I will be surprised.

I'm going to go out and buy a Confirm this morning. I am trying to decide if I should test this morning's FMU that I didnt dump out yet or wait till tomorrow. 2-pack, will probably do both.

Hi, I would love to join this thread.
Here is a bit of background: Our ds is 7 ½ month, I’m pumping and he is on some solids. With him we were ttc for over 2 ½ years. I charted my temp. for about one year but quit before we conceived him. My cycles were always pretty regular and my first ever hpt was the bfp.
My first ppaf was beginning of December which lasted almost 40 days.We haven’t used any preventative measures so I went thru a few tests on that cycle. My next three were all right on at 29 days but then the next one was 33 days. : So after that I decided to start charting again and I also got some of those cheap opk online.
Today it’s cd 11 for me.

Storychick, can’t wait to hear how your test went. :

Good luck to everyone and lots of

Take care,

Sandy

They didnt have Confirm so I got an Answer Quick & Early something or other, mostly cause the slim selection they had was mostly tests I knew from peeonastick.com to be less sensitive. (I am clearly overthinking this. )

Anyway, I got a very faint line. But more of a line than from the saveontests.

I am still cautious, though. I feel much less certain of this one than I did my previous two. So I am not saying officially anything yet but am inside.

smile on storychick! I hope that line gets stronger and you can let that smile out for everyone to see! Fingers crossed...

Storychick - I do believe congratulations are likely in order What cycle day are you? Do you think the tests are faint because you are still early in your cycle? Ah.... just read that today is probably day 25 for you! That is good news!
Today is CD 22 for me, 10 dpo and my temp was still high this morning at 98.1.

I'd like to ask if the other Mamas here chart? I have to say that knowing that my temp is high helps me a great deal. I mean, if my temp had already dipped I would be bummed but would know that we were out of the running this month and start focussing on next month. This is our first month trying so I didn't really expect much though it has always been easy for us in the past

I guess my point is that we have been charting tta for years and being able to compare this months chart to months in the past and ESPECIALLY the chart I have from the month I got pg with DD has just been so helpful and reassuring. If you are not yet charting I would highly recommend it.

I was supposed to wait until my birthday which is on Saturday to test but I might just break down and test Friday evening I would probably test sooner but before then I would want to use FMU and don't want to test w/o DH here - he leaves for work around 4:45am so that's not going to happen.

joining in. we have never even thought about having or trying for #3 until the last few months. dh really didn't think he wanted more children, we have a dd 4 and a dd18months. I should be ovulating anyday now... I can not wait. though I tend to have really icky morning sickness but otherwise all goes well. plus we are using a nmw this time. I am thrilled about that

Keri, I think it was you, who said you wanted to plan your bd'ing a certain way to hopefully conceive a boy. Can you please explain to me the different bd pattern for a boy and girl? I would love to have a girl the next time, DH doesn't care either way.
Thanks!

Take care,

Sandy

Yep, tha was me.
If you are trying for a girl I do know you are supposed to time BDing before ovulation. The theory is that female sperm live longer and if there is no egg the males will die off and once the egg drops only femals will be living.
For instance with DD#2 we were tta - we had sex on day 6 of my cycle and were to find out I was pregnant but we were pretty sure from the beginning that it was going to be a girl because no male sperm is going to wait around 5 days for an egg! I always have copious amounts of CM which I know helps the swimmers live longer.

I know for a boy DH is supposed to deposit K-9 style to hit a certain place in your cervix. I am pretty sure they recommend missionary style when trying for a girl.

I think the biggest key is - timing BDing before ovulation like 48+ hours before and I also believe genetics play a key as well as your CM. I have read that some women have CM that is more friendly to males or females.

I have 2 boys from my first husband and 2 girls from my second husband. I really feel with DH we have a 50/50 chance of either. However, with my XH he was an only and his dad was an only and his grandpa only had boys in his family so I think it was more of a genetic/heriditary issue with him. He went on to have another son with his new wife.

You can look online for more suggestions. Dr. Shettles is the guy that wrote the book on the subject. I am sure if you google him you will get lots of information.

Good luck,
Keri
