Anybody starting ttc this month (May)? - Page 3

Tinamaries: I use fertilityfriend too - and used to concieve my daughter. I have a love/hate relationship with that site. It used to be my community-home for around a year and I had several buddygroups over there. From one day to the other they closed down access to the forums for ALL non-paying members. No warning - no nothing. Many people lost contact with eachother. Lots of people have been banned from the site for ridiculous things and we are a whole lot of angry ex-FFers outhere on other forums. However their fertility program is prima. It is very easy to use. The free version works well and they have an easy to understand get started tutorial as well as all kinds of guides on how to chart.
To give you the basics then it goes like this.
You temp every morning before getting out of bed and before starting to move around. You enter the temp to your chart daily. Ofcourse temps are going to go up and down most days but you will still clearly see that when you ovulate then the your temperature is on average higher than it was before O. That way you can pinpoint your ovulation. You can also enter results of OPK-tests as well as all sorts of other fertilitysigns. What kind of CM you are having, how your cervix feels etc.

Good luck..

Already I have a question for you all!

I'm now worried (yes, I'm a worrier ) that I shouldn't ttc this month. Turns out AF was very, very light (3 days of spotting, now stopped) and since I m/c in February, I'm wondering if this means I don't have enough lining for a preg to stick yet... Any ideas?

If you want, see this thread (on Preg & Birth Loss) for a little more info:

Sorry I don't have any answers for you ELKMama - I hope everything turns out ok.
I know the general rule is to wait a couple of months but also know plenty of Mamas that got pg right away and continued with a successful pregnancy including myself. Listen to your gut.

Blessings,
Keri

we are also officialy ttc #2, dd is only 3 months old but we'd like a close age gap, birth last time happened so quick 2.5 hours prob wouldn't change alot, but every birth will prob be different so we shall see what happens.

Also we hope to keep it quiet for as long as possible but knowing me i'll be so excited that i won't be able to keep it a secret for long although some people will frown uponus for trying so soon after dd, i love being a mommy

Any tips on how to conceive a certain sex i'm not fussed whether we have a dd or ds but i know dp would like a ds, AF went about 5 days ago and my cycle lasts 28 days.

Hi! DH and I are ttc dc#2. Our first DC is 3.5 years old. I should O next week (May 4) so we will be doing the BD all next week !!!

Best wishes to all of you.

Thanks, Keri, for the good wishes above.

Wouldn't you know, now AF started for real! So now I'm going to treat the spotting from a few days ago as spotting and think of today as cd1. Who knows if that is "right" but I *do* want to start!

We have just started TTC#2, I am still BF and haven't had a PPAF. DS is almost 1yr and a avid nurser day and night. It took us 14mo to get PG with him so I hope it doesn't take that long with #2. I also have 2 rompers and a few shirts from granola threads. They are so cute.

Kristina: I'm a newbie hyena too

Jen&James: Welcome. Nice to see another BF'ing TTC'ing mother It is quite frustrating to BF and TTC at the same time though.. Especially when waiting for PPAF - I hope you wont have to wait too long. I got mine when my daughter was 7 months and am currently having my second PPAF. Hoping to O within 3 weeks from now. Last cycle I O'ed around CD 30 : Hoping for shorter cycle this time around.. Good luck..

Yes, we are too this month! TTC #5 (#1 is my SS) I am really excited. I had my tubes tied in 1997 and my tubes untied in 2001 (I changed my mind ~ lol and DH thought i was crazy haha). I have one DS after my Tubal Reversal. I am almost 31.

Hope we all have great luck!

Heyla all!

I spent the last few days at a doula training workshop and I'm really feeling the baby fever now! DH and I tried to cover my "window of opportunity" so I guess it's now a matter of wait and see!

Good luck all....

Okay ladies, this is the day where I start to sweat that my luteal phase will be too short and I'll get my period. I can handle a negative test- but the hope that I just might be pregnant and then my dang LP will screw it up really has me nervous.

I refuse to pee on a stick until 10dpo. LOL Here's my chart.
Kristina: Are you breastfeeding? Your last cycle was long too and with a short LP (like mine 11 days here too) so I just wondered if it is because of breastfeeding. Anyway it looks like good BD-timing and O on CD 21. Good luck! From what I have heard then a 10 day Luteal Phase should be enough for proper implant.. (hoping here..)

Well it is May 1st so I can officially post in this thread! We are TTC #1 starting this month. I went off BCP in Feb (have been using condoms since then) and so far my cycles seem pretty irregular. First month AF showed 1 day late but lasted only 1 day. AF was due for the second time last Thursday and has yet to show up. I tested just to be sure and BFN yesterday.

You ladies sound like experts so can any of you explain what might be going on? What does it mean when there is no AF but you aren't PG? Does it mean my last cycle was anovulatory? Should I be concerned and call the doctor if AF doesn't show, or should I just wait and see if AF shows in another month or so? If AF doesn't show does it mean I am still in the same cycle, or do I assume a new one started and that I might O in about 2 weeks? In the meantime, DH and are just BD'ing every other day in hopes we might catch an eggie...

This is all new to me. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you ladies to get BFPs in May!!

Ligmom - Sorry AF showed

Gina - The pill can and does do evil things to your body. Are you charting? If not, I'd give that a try to see if you are ovulating. It can take some women months to get back on track after stopping hormonal bc.

So today is Cycle Day Monday...... How about we check in every Monday with what CD we are on so we can try to keep track of where everyone is?

This is CD 7 for me We GIO a LOT this weekend knowing that we would be abstaining for almost a week We are 'trying' for a boy so no BDing for us until day 12 or 13 depending on what my temps do and what the OPKs say.

Do we have any Mamas on the 2 week wait yet?

Me!

I'm in the 2ww. Here's an update I just posted in the "One" thread:

*gulp*

A bit of background: When I was pregnant with dd, my very first symptom – that I could definitively say *wasn’t* pms or anything else – was veining in my breasts. I always had veins, of course, but at 12dpo I noticed that they now extended all the way to my nipples. I got a bfp at 13dpo.

We’ve had a couple of oops moments in the last year and a half, and since that was my first symptom, it’s always the thing I check first. The original veins that developed during my pregnancy never went away, but I never got any new ones, either. Until today.

It’s WAAAAAAY too early to test yet (I’m somewhere between 3-7dpo) but HOLY MONKEYS I’m freaking out. I don’t want to talk to anybody about it IRL, so I’m going to jump around in circles virtually.

:
Is that okay?

So, I'm going to try VERY, VERY hard to hold out on testing until the weekend. We'll see how it goes.

Best of luck to everyone else!

Good Luck Keri, Kristina, wombatclay and Elizabeth - I imagine the 2ww is the longest 2 weeks ever!!

I guess since AF has yet to arrive, I am on CD33? Thanks for the advice Keri. Maybe I will try charting this month to help me understand what is going on ...

Temp jumped this morning, making my heart just go pitter-patter! I was so scared it was going to be low! I couldn't resist, I had to POAS. Nothing yet!
