Depp/Jolie 'Wuthering Heights'

Has anyone heard anymore about this since the gossipmongers were talking about this in january? is it/isn't it going down? i for one want to see it, crappy accents and all (if i can take gwyneth as 'emma' i can handle a depp/jolie teaming as native yorkshiremen ). oh, i think he'd make a GORGEOUS heathcliff, & isn't heathcliff to die anyways, as literary characters go? (and as an old olivier partisan as 'the proper heathcliff for now and always', i do not suggest these things lightly).

i can't imagine what's keeping production from starting.

According to the Internet Movie Database, they are both busy. He is currently filming Pirates 3 while 2 is in post production. He has 2 more films after that. She has 2 films in post-production and has a baby on the way. So, it may be that producers sent some people to England to scout locations for a dream of a new film version of Wuthering Heights starring the two. There is so much BS in Hollywood that happens when films are in pre-production, Many don't ever get made. It would be nice to see him as a new Heathcliff but I would see Juliette Binoche as Catherine. She played Catherine to Ralph Fiennes Healthcliff in 1992 and was great. I loved the chemistry she had with Depp in Chocolat.

I LOVE Johnny in most movies, but I'm not a Jolie fan. Speaking of Chocolat, I think I'll watch that later--after the kids go to bed!

btw, my last comment was sarcasm. i do hope something comes of this, though i imagine johnny depp's partner (did they ever get married?) might not be in favor of a jolie teaming either .
