Good book about child development?

Does anyone have any recommendations for books abour child development?

I'm specifically interested in ones that can tell me what are developmentally appropriate expectations, but any armchair science would be good, too!

Penelope Leach has a pretty good book on your baby through age 5 (sorry, I don't remember the exact title). I don't agree with all of the parenting advice, but she does give good developmental stuff and also helps you see things from a baby/child's perspective.

Some of my favorites:

Magic Trees of the Mind by Diamond (brain development)
The Scientist in the Crib by Gopnik (infant cognitive development)
The Baby Book by Sears and Touchpoints by Brazelton (general child development)
Your Child's Growing Mind by Healy (brain/cognitive development)

All of my books are in my office, so I'll edit this post to add some more when I get into work...
