Ants with sticks

I just had to share this one, it's too funny. Yesterday, we were at the park and my three years old called me to go see something while she was happily slinging away. I diligently dropped my book and went to her. She got off the swing and said "look mommy a very strange ant"... how did she spot the ant and the fact it is strange from the swing I don't know. But, the ant was carrying this huge (for her) but tiny (for me) piece of wood. And dd goes "Oh no, I am afraid she will hurt her ant-friends now. Hey antie, please put this down now, OK?"

How precious! That reminds me of my DD who saw an ant carrying something and was worried that the ant would hurt it's back!

I think young kids have a special bug spotting super power. My daughter can spot micro spiders (what DH and I call small almost invisible spiders) from across the room and lets us know by hysterical screeching and screaming

Yep, my son would have done that too, just out of spite. :

My little girl says cute things like that too. She worries about ladybugs. We get them in our house certain times of the year. I have to carefully carry them outside if we see one so they can go find their mommy. gosh I love this age! I wish they could stay that way forever.
