we had a followup US today and today they said there is only one baby.
One big, girl baby that is already 7 lbs and has a head measuring 39 weeks... the actual measurement was 34 cm, and frankly I've already birthed two 34s, a 35, a 36 and two 39cms so her head sounds small to me! LOL
The doc did move my due date up... I started out thinking May 24, then we moved it to May 19 based on most likely date of conception, then the MW moved it to May 10/12 by LMP, and today the doc said "maybe May 10 by LMP, but I'm calling it May 5 by US."
He also said that her lips, fingers, heart, kidneys and spine all look perfect.
AS if the baby can read a calendar or cares, anyway, about the dates.. so we're set.
But at least we KNOW that we feel baby's head in the birth canal, just a little bouncy still (not firmly engaged).. she keeps putting her hands in front of her face and during the US she was sucking on the umbilical cord! She better be a good nurser, huh?
And I'm still about 7cm and 80% effaced and having really annoying prelabor contractions.
With all the good news, we're back to our original plans of a nice, couples home waterbirth.
