Tonight there is a biography about Julia Butterfly Hill on cable TV! Does anyone remember her? I used to protest and was arrested when I was 17 in Humboldt County for causes like the old growth trees with earth first and the nevada nuclear test site with activist groups called food not bombs and green peace no nukes~ Anyhoo I admire Julia Butterfly alot!

I just got sooo excited when I saw this post. I was hooked up with some sitters and on my way to treesit when I met my (now) husband. I ended up preg and then climbing into a redwood was kinda out of the question. I was kinda bummed, still aam, trying to get over it. But its still a huge issue to me. I love those trees, that whole area. I'm orig. from Sacramento but now I'm in FL. So cool to meet someone who has been involved in the movement!!! Much respect and admiration to you!!! Sorry about the post hijack

She and I have the same birthday, and she was born in the little town that I live in. I admire her so much, and I feel a connection with her.

And my daughter was accidently named after her tree. Our LUNA was born on the full moon, hence the name....but still I can say that they share a name.

I remember Julia Butterfly Hill. Anyone who can stay in a tree for that long for a good cause is worth remembering. Our daughter also has a name in common with her.
