Oh, I meant to say MY ERGO IS ON IT'S WAY!!!!

Rylee - Haye looks a lot like your husband, at least I think so. You need to get him a clip on piercing so they'll match

operamomy- I'm with you on the kicking. eloisa is kicking my opposite arm. OUCH.
MY left forarm especially is all bruised up now. last night we took a run to the store and DH had me wear a long sleeved shirt so noone would think he beat me! And it was 92 degrees out at 7:30 last night!!

as for food i offer her 1x a day. Sometimes she eats , sometimes no. when she does eat she'll scarf down the whole jar, then nurse and pass out. reminds me of her papi. i'd say she eats food about 3 or 4 days a week. and she sucks on a green bean or other veggie while hte rest of us eat dinner.
She's actually been having cereal for a long time because of inactive bowels. Baby cereal (barley or oatmeal mixed with barley - never rice which is constipator) was a compromise with my ped. as an alternative to prescription meds. :

Eclipse--That stinks about the laundromat! Get a stick of dynaminte and blow in the laundry room door, that's what I'd do! ha ha ha guess who watched too much Bugs Bunny when she was growing up! Now we are TV-free, but my kids seem to come up with warped ideas all on their own anyway!

Wryknowlicious---Your baby eating and passing out, that's hysterical. What does she think it is, Thanksgiving? ?? Hysterical. My third one used to fall asleep with her face in her booster seat tray all the time. I have lots of hysterical pictures of it.

Worldshakerz--OUCH! Take it easy, hon! no more dropsies, OK? You're not pregnant are you? That's like pregnancy clumsiness, LOL. I went through a phase where I used to break every glass I had, but thankfully I'm over it. I think my 5-yr-old got my genes though.

Eclipse--You got an Ergo? Cool. It has taken me a few weeks to get the hang of mine, at first I thought I would send it back, but then my babywearing-expert friend showed me how to wear it properly. It's nice. I like wearing my Mei Tei (Kozy Carrier) on my back, but now that she's 15 lbs I need more support and more padding for my waist and hips. The only thing I hate about the Ergo is that the belt cuts into my tummy in front---BADLY. I'm pretty slim, but whether you're slim or not, lots of people seem to have the same problem. I roll up a towel, flatten it, and then put it under the waist portion in front. Anyone else do this?

Ryleeee--I got no sleep last night either. Hillary decided she wanted to get up at 4. Now we're both toast. My daughter just announced that brunch is ready. COOL!

Allgirls---Have a wonderful, marvelous time with your mom. It's great you have a good relationship. Enjoy!

Gotta run, time to eat. Wish I could drink coffee, but I'm another one who cannot tolerate caffeine.

Later!

Once again, I am struggling to keep up with all of you

Carolyn, congrats on the house!!!!!!! That's wonderful news!!!!!!

Aka mommy, I'll be thinking good thoughts on Friday for you!!! About the guilt, someone made a great post in the working moms space and I wish I could remember it exactly. It was something to the effect that you should look at daycare/babysitters are more people who will love and care for your baby, rather than it meaning that she is receiving less love and care from you. Hmmm....it made more sense in the original. But the point was that if more people love and care for your child, that's not a bad thing.

Ryleeee, Haye just gets cuter and cuter by the day

eclipse, congrats on the ergo. I am so jealous!!!!!!!!

Ember has been eating solids (mashed fruits and veggies, cheerios, a taste of what we're eating, etc) since 4 months, once a day or less (sometimes she goes three or four days without any, and doesn't seem to care either way). She never had a problem with any of the textures i've given her, so i'm not conserned about "getting her used to food" and obviously she's getting plenty of milk (happy, chubby baby that nurses every two hours), so it's all good.

Congratulations on the house Carolyn!! it's a huge deal. How awesome for you guys.

Don't you wish we could all get together and have a giant playgroup once a month or so? That would be cool with a capital C.
what the heck, i lay down for a couple hours and you guys are half-way down the third page!

i really love talking with all of you, it's so great. i look forward to hearing about your families every day.

scary about the laundromat, i'll pray you survive.
the dynamite idea almost made me spit coke everywhere. hahahahaha.

hope you and hillary get a nap today! yikes. 4 is no fun. i don't know why i didn't go to bed until like, 5 but that was stupid. haye slept for 11 hours and i slept for 4. that doesn't really add up.

haye really looks like derek, the piercing would be funny. i should get a fake one and take a picture and send it to the grandparents. hehehehe. i'm a little bit evil, i guess.
i forgot to ask, how often do your kiddos poop?
haye is EBF and used to go every day. then when he got the flu he was going 10-15 times a day. YUCK. like LOTS.
now he's going every two days. i think that's weird.

DD has been a once a week girl since she was about 6 weeks old. Although yesterday she went twice (maybe something I ate?). I think there's a pretty big range of "normal."
OK, I have a strange question: has your dc's eye color changed yet? I'm just curious because dd's eyes are the same color as when she was born (deep blue) and I wonder if that means she'll keep that color. I had expected them to change (dh has dark brown eyes, my eyes are grey-ish), but nothing yet. Would they have changed by now?
My kids all took about 2 YEARS to change eye colors. My son now has the dreamiest chocolate brown eyes, OMG, it's so hard to NOT let him get away with stuff when he gives me the Big Brown Eye treatment. That was 2 years, not 2 months! I don't know who the einstein was who dictated that eye color changes in the first 6 months. Probably someone who didn't have babies in real life.

Ryleeee--Mmmm, Coke, that sounds good. And by the way, 11 hours of sleep for Haye and 4 for you, sure it adds up! It adds up to one rested baby and one psychpathic mamma. When Hillary woke me up so early I just strapped her on my back and worked on my quilt creations for 3 hours. At least I feel like I made something beautiful this morning. I'm making my little boy a race car quilt (did I already say that?) I showed it to DH this morning and I swear to god, his eyes lit up....boys will be boys! I think he wants one too. I could spend 150 hours doing real piecework and a REALLY fancy quilt top (well, fancy for me, I'm a beginner though!), and DH's eyes just glaze over. But I spend three hours on the whole top, no piecework (that means it's all made from one solid piece of fabric, in this case), and DH thinks it's fabulous...just because it has cars on it. WHat a screwball.

Gotta go. Hillary has a big poop and it's also time to go get food. Thursday is farm day.
Ok i know ill miss something since you all are flying already!!! Kayleigh has poopies every other day. Meaning one day nothing then the next 3 or 4 and it continues. Though baby food tends to back her up.

Farm day, that sounds sooooo fun!!!

Lyssa's eyes were bright blue, then turned green and now at 2.5 are hazel. The most beautiful eyes i've ever seen. Kayleigh was born with dark blue eyesand they still are that way. WAiting for the change!

Thanks for the wishes of luck. I have another interivew on monday just in case i dont get the one tomorrow. And i've started interviewing nannies and daycares. Thanks for the tips on combating guilt. More people to love my girls is never a bad thing!

And caffeine is my one vice. When i got preggers with lyssa i quit drinking and smoking. So i have my Dr. Skipper every day still!

Ok kaleigh is fussing. Here's some recent pics. Ryleee i LOVEEEE haye he is sooo adorable!

I really can't wait to try the Ergo. I tried Aidan on my back with the Mei Tai, and it wasn't very comfortable - I think the structure and padding of the Ergo should help. Thanks for the waist band tip - I'll try to remember that! I got a really really really good deal on the Ergo, one that I couldn't pass up. I got in on an unofficial co-op type thing (not a co-op, because they don't do co-ops ) and including paypal fees and shipping to me, it was about $75.00 brand new. For that deal, evne if I hate it, I can re-sell it and make back all my money! Anyhow, the person who ordered them got them yesterday and plans to mail today or tomorrow. I'm going to the Wild Animal Park on tuesday - I hope it's here by then!

We survived the laundry mat, and it was suprisingly pleasant. I was a bad environmentalist and drove to a far away mat instead of going to the one across the street, because the far away one is next to a Starbucks and has a big unused lot behind it that the kids could play in. Rhiannon kicked a soccer ball around and Liam rode his scooter. There's even a grassy area that Aidan and I sat in. If it didn't cost so much more than our laundry room, I would probably do it more often.

As for eye color, dh and I are both blue eyed, so all our kids are too. None of them really changed much in color past the first month or so. They are born bluish grey and end up deep blue.

Pooping~ Aidan poops about twice a day - sometimes more, sometimes less, and very rarely will skip a day. When Liam was exclusively breastfed, he would go a week or two between poops. When he had them, they were blow outs, but it was nice to not have to deal with many of them. Rhiannon was pretty much a once a day girl.

Eclipse--Glad the laundromat was not so bad! You're brave to even attempt it! Oh, and the Ergo waistband thing--the rolled up towel looks really really stupid, and I'm thinking of sewing a padded type thing I can velcro around the front of the wiastband, dark denim to match the rest. If anyone has better ideas, lemme know!

Gotta go. Mission accomplished getting our farm food (it's an organic CSA), and now time for swimming. I'm not going in the water today. My throat hurts and I've been up since four. Ugh. I'd rather eat the cookie I just bought and watch the kids swim their little hind ends off. Some role model huh. Buy kids, go exercise while mom eats and watches. Hey, I figure, today I deserve it.

Til manana!

Hi mamas! We are a chatty group, aren't we?

EVC, my two older kids' eyes changed pretty early - within 6 weeks they were brown. That wasn't a surprise, as both their bio dad and I have brown eyes. Sam's are done changing...I think. He has dh's hazel eyes so far, and I'm pretty sure they're that way to stay - they have a pretty little golden ring around the iris just like dh has.

eclipse, I'm impressed by your laundrymat story! Glad you found a nice place to go.

allgirls, YAY!! on your new home! Can't wait to see pics. I'm glad your mom is getting to see Martina for the first time, too.

freestyler, that's so cool about your farm food! I'm getting ready to plant our garden for the summer. No chemicals, etc. here. I'm doing a larger one this year, so the big kids get to divide up last year's for their own little gardens. Ds1 is going to try his hand at some corn, carrots, and lettuce. Dd wants flowers! She helps me with our strawberry patch, too. We already have some tiny green baby strawberries growing.

Baby up!

about the waist band, I have that problem as well, I mentioned it to a friend today and she said that they make padded things for hiking backpacks. She thinks it would work well with the Ergo.

I learned how to make soap today! Yay, it was fun and fairly easy. A friend taught me and we had difficulties getting the 2 things to the right temps, but even with that it was easier than I thought. I was thinking of making soap to sell just for fun.

Hi, I see I missed a lot too!

Kayleigh is adorable! I loooove the chunky thighs on these babies!

J is finally starting to fill out a little bit. He is still a tall skinny little guy though, and I am just in love with him right now. I don't remember this phase with dd, I guess because I was overwhelmed with just motherhood, but I am just loving this phase. Dd got him laughing today by smelling his feet and he was just doing this hilarious "haw haw haw" and killing us.

here are my sweet peas!

oh and he is also all or nothing on solids. yesterday he ate a ton, and today he didn't want much. wow did he poop today though! every single diaper, I think! but usually it's once or twice a day.

take care y'all, hope everybody's doing well.
Bailey228--Do you mean your friend makes those padded things, or generic "they"make them? What do you think the waist band pads are called so I can order online?

Organic gardening----wayyy cool. My kids would love that. So would I. We've got rotten soil here, it would be better to use raised beds here.

Dinnertime! Oh, and my cookie was super delicious. I even ate half my hubby's! I was like, look hon, I got you this, watch me eat it and I'll prove how good it is!! I'm not usually a junk food person, just had the urge to treat myself today. Yummm.
Oh, sorry I wasn't very specific. She meant "they" as in the generic they. I have no idea what they would be called though unfortunatly. I'd try a google search for "hiking backpack belt padding" maybe?
