Back from our anniversababymoon, and things are looking up! We had a wonderful week, Tadpole seems to be right on track, my temporary crown is holding, and I passed the GTT. Woohoo!

I will say that the GTT is one of the worst things i've had to undergo medically. The lab was boring and uncomfortable. The first phleb blew my left vein and utterly freaked me out to tears, so all 4 of the next draws had to come from my right arm, so I looked like the world's fattest heroin addict during my beach vacation. The drink wasn't too bad, but I would have had serious problems waiting if I hadn't brought a book. No magazines in the lab?? And their TV was on an endless "informercial" loop for LabCorps. Anyway, I am so thankful that I passed, because I do not know how I would deal with having to do that again while pregnant. Plus, i'm out of veins.

Glad to hear everyone is doing well! Yay for the third trimester and building new eyelashes!

Ack!

So I was mowing the lawn and bumped myself in the belly, and it really hurt. But of course I ignored it. Then I was inside cooking dinner a bit later and felt a sort of rrriiiiipppp feeling, not too comfortable, and was a little worried. So then I just went upstairs to pee after dinner, looked at my bare belly, and OH MY GOSH, there are about 2 dozen tiny stretch marks where there had never been any before, right where all the pain was. I got some last pregnancy below the belly button line, but these are to the right and slightly above the belly button!! I'm appalled! I've still got at least another 10 weeks to go! I'm gonna be a road map by then for sure. But man, I didn't realize stretching skin could hurt so much!

Well we had our u/s with the specialist today. Good news is both babies are close in size now. Bad nes is my cervix went from 4cm to 2.8cm in eight days and is opening from the inside. We go back for another cervical u/s in a week and if it shortens anymore the dr wants to give me the steroid shot for the babies lungs So I'm on partial bedrest now. I can still work but if I'm not at work I'm supposed to be horizontal

Well, congrats that babies are okay! But, I'm sorry your cervix is changing already. Keeping my : that your cervix doesn't change anymore and you can cook those babies LONGER.

I'm glad the babies look good. Just take it easy and know that every day their lungs mature a bit more. At least we've all pretty much passed or are approaching 29 weeks, which is a great milestone.

Oh Azreial big big hugs.... Make sure you are taking it as easy as possible. Is it possible to take a leave from work early? Lay down, drink some water and keep those feet up.

What a relief that the babies are doing well. Take it easy. I was on full bedrest last pg and it stinks but it helped get me to 35 wks so it was worth it.

Oh, girls... I *finally* understand what you mean by "popping"!!

I swear that in the last 4 days, my tummy has grown 3 sizes and is now a taut, round, utterly pregnant belly. When we were on vacation over the weekend, even, DH and I would stand in front of a mirror and laugh about "suck it in-- normal. blow it out-- shamu!" And now I can't suck it in a single inch! And my belly button has changed shape completely, and I have those two kinda vertical lines on either side of my belly. From the back, I don't even look pregnant, but it is now extremely obvious from the front and sides.

In fact, I was publicly spoken to as "pregnant" for the first time yesterday while shoe shopping. An employee was picking up all the boxes and spare shoes that customers were leaving around, and she watched me for a minute and sighed and said, "Honey, you're pregnant, and YOU can put your shoes back!! What's wrong with these people?"

I am AMAZED at the difference a couple of days can make in the pregnant body. Simply amazed!

Azreial I hope your cervix doesn't change anymore for awhile. Though good that the boys have caught up in size...

Just got back from my almost 29 week appointment. Everything's normal, including my complaints of course. I'm suddenly measuring 4cm ahead, but the midwife just shrugged it off saying the baby was sort of between head up and transverse.
August seems so far away, but for my next appointment in June I've gotta figure out when we want out home visit! That just suddenly made it all seem much closer.

So precious!!!

I flew into Chicago (again) last night for some business, and I was in line at the airport behind a nice family. They had a little girl who looked 3 or so, and Mom had a tiiiiiny infant in a sling. Of course I couldn't help myself and ohhed and ahhhed, asked her name and how old she was-6 weeks-and how well she travelled. Mom said that she had done just fine on their flight into GR, and was sure she'd be fine on the way home. She was so tiny and beautiful! I have an infant carrier, but not a sling. She was on the same flight as me, and I didn't hear a peep! She looked so snug and comfy-and mom had both hands free for her preschooler and thier luggage. I'm sold. I plan to pick up a sling at my next opportunity for this babe. It was so fun to see such a little one and remind myself what we're in for again.

I tell you, this pregnancy is almost boring

Did my monthly checkup yesterday, and spent nearly the whole appointment discussing coffee and vacation destinations with my OB. DH actually asked if that meant he could assume everything was okay with the baby. Doc said "yup" and asked if I had any concerns. Nope. OK, see you next month.

Did the GCT yesterday, too. No probs, other than a nice sugar rush. Oh, and it gave me a killer appetite afterwards. I haven't had room to eat more than a single slice of pizza for a month now, but yesterday I downed two pancakes, two eggs, a double-tall latte, a large orange juice, and was still eyeing DH's hashbrowns. Worse yet, I was hungry again three hours later!

radiogirlgr, I know what you mean!

It's hard for me to get excited about clothes and carseats, but I take out my sling and mei tai all the time and practice carrying a teddy bear around! It's so fun to think about having that baby close and not having to bother with some enormous, annoying stroller in my little Honda Civic. Makes the impending baby seem more "real", you know?

And KC, congrats on being through with your sugar rush and full of delicious breakfast!

As far as my chitchat, i've just got to say... HURRAY FOR ALL BRAN!!! I weight 2 pounds less this morning. It tastes awful, but it's definitely worth it.
