Vibing away.
But I'd recommend getting a copy of Dumbing Us Down, The Hidden Curriculum of Compulsory Education, by John Taylor Gatto. Former NY State Teacher of the Year, he's one of homeschooling's strongest advocates. That one really tends to get through to a lot of men. You can read some of his writing online too:
Writing on the Web
Here's a whole book of his online - The Underground History of American Education.
Another good one to get is Family Matters: Why Homeschooling Makes Sense, by David Guterson. A former high school English teacher, and now a best-selling novelist, Guterson explains why he chose to homeschool his own kids, even while still teaching. His wife was the one home with the kids - so it shouldn't be assumed that the key to their success was that he was a "teacher." This is a very eloquent book.
You need to put together more compelling arguments that can speak more to a man - the one about having to sit in classrooms is probably not going to cut it. If you read those books, read the articles listed in the stickie at the top of this forum, etc., you'll become a lot more articulate reasons that he can start to slowly relate to.
You have time. Don't worry. Even if your daughter does end up going to school for a while, there's always the possibility that homeschooling could work out in the future. We didn't start homeschooling till my son was almost 8, and it worked out just fine. And you never know what may be right around the corner.
