Onslow County, NC (Jacksonville, Richlands, etc.) - Page 3

Krystal - this in in J-ville. You'll be on 24 heading towards Swansboro/Lejeune. It is actually about a mile from the front gate of Lejeune. On your left, you'll see a Coastal Dry Cleaner's, then a street, then a Blockbuster video place. That street is Corbett St. Turn onto it and keep going; the park is about a half-mile down. It's fairly big, on both sides of the street. I've never actually been there, just driven past about a hundred times (my babysitter lives half a block away)... I think the right side has picnic areas.

Oh, yeah, Corbett St is directly across from Tarawa Terrace, if that helps.

ETA: Friday is good for me, but I can't do anything that involves even the slightest amount of money - the next month or so is going to be tight beyond belief.

So who's in? Shannon? Melissa, are you around?

dipe problems

was wondering if anyone knew of a place to get wetbags not on the internet. I looked under the featured forums this month and it had to do with wetbags and they said something about dollar tree has anyone been to one and seen them there. I go but just never looked and was wondering if anyone had any that they dont use anymore or that they got to many of. if so i would love some for my diaper pails. also what do you all use for your diaper bag if you have found one small enough please do share. I hate carrying plastic bags for one reason enviromentalist big time if i can help it. Walmart hates me becausei ask them to bag my groceries in canvas bags i am baaaaad about it. I acutally bought the canvas bags in the craft section to put groceries in ya awful huh. anyway thanks for any advice thanks.:

I'm in for the park on Friday! The playground is on the left & some sports fields & water access are on the right. There are picnic tables on both sides, but just so no one gets confused, lets meet on the playground side, 'k?

Krystal: Do you go to my church?? Calvary Lutheran? We just had a picnic at NE Creek Park the Sunday before last.

No advice on wetbags offline. I use the Bummis ones. I'll need a new one for the diaper pail before Baby comes b/c we've about worn the first one out. Let me know if you find any deals in town!

I know a lady local that sells wet bags from her site applepiebaby.com - but she'll let you pick it up at her house (she lives somewhere off gum branch)

I've been scarce since I've had family in town and with work- along with my regular job I picked up a few nights last week bartending for some weddings on the beach- man the money people spend on weddings

I would LOVE to join you ladies at the park friday! Just let me know what time to join you- I'm free all day

Melissa

alrighty noon it is for me too. thanks everyone it should be fun i just hope that it isnt going to rain does anyone know with the storm coming our way i just was wondering thanks. :
It is sad I have been doing diapers and ruining my cheap covers from walmart (yuck anyway but still) and all because it has done nothig but rain everyday so when i get them out on the line i have to run out and get them cause the rain. although i have heard rain water is good for them but i dont know if i would want to wait al day to get them dry agghhh between my washmachine and this rain (washmachine is breaking left and right we have a knife holding lever so it thinks door is down) i am never going to get done with laundry. anyway have a better day then i am having we all here are getting: colds due to change in weather everyday anyway sending prayers that it doesnt rain friday while we are out there.

Welcome, Jayme!

Geoffries as back up sounds great!

Are we bringing picnic lunches to eat together at the park, or are we eating ahead of time?

Krystal - You didn't miss much. Shannon and I were the only ones there, but we ended up with 2 moms that were also doing a meetup from some other group. I thought they were MDC mamas at first, but then they were talking about how great epidurals are, the high cost of 'sposies, and the one chick was saying that she was going to have her (almost-2-year-old) son RE-CIRCED because they barely took any foreskin the first time and you can't tell it was ever done... oh my goodness, I'm surprised I kept my mouth shut. But apparently we just got up with the wrong group, lol. I PM'd Shannon afterwards and was like, "Was it just me, or were they not very crunchy?"

So believe me, you did not miss a thing. We could do it again next Friday, though...
