TLC Babystory homebirth! - Page 2

I've noticed a lot of drug-free and HBs this week too. : It's good to see on ABS. Normally the show just raises my BP to insane levels.

The other day there was a mom on who had a hospital birth and she did great! She was chatting and laughing at 8cm! I was rooting for her. I even told my dh, look at this mom she's doing great!

Ok I don't know what the deal is but every homebirth one I've watched has had something go wrong. I've watched 3! Yesterday they ended up in the hospital, today the mom gets sick and ends up calling 911!! I swear they tape tons of homebirth ones and pick the ones the shed bad light now homebirth. That show just pi$$es me off.

That's interesting that you should say that because even though I have seen ones where something goes wrong, I have seen many more where it goes beautifully! It sounds like you're catching the "bad" ones

I was thinking of writing TLC a letter letting them know how much I appreciate that they are showing homebirths on this show.

I'm so glad to hear that "Bring Home Baby" had a homebirth!!!! So far, the only episodes I've seen involved hospital births, bringing the baby home and immediately going to formula, or trying to breastfeed and not getting support and then they quit and switch to formula. I had to stop watching the show completely because it was just upsetting me... I was yelling at the TV - "CALL AN LLL LEADER!!!!!!!!"

They really need an episode of that show with an LLL leader coming over to the house and helping her out. Maybe more women would see that and realize they have that resource locally! How many millions of women would be able to breastfeed if they just realized that they had the LLL available for help... FREE help?

*I* also had a straight OP baby as well as a OP brow and I can't imagine going in a car anywhere!!

But I do agree that I have never felt pain like the brow before!

I LOVE seeing home births, and natural births in general, on Baby Story.
That one was on here recently. As soon as I heard how many poeple were going to be at the birth I knew instantly it would be a transport. That is alot of pressure and commotion. Too many people IMO.

Yeah, but at least she had the baby at home. She transported for post-partum hemoraging that wouldn't stop with the midwife's assistance. Most trasnpsorts that occur when lots of people are around occur during labor.

The homebirth with the Dh in Iraq was on here yesterday. I often check to see what the episodes for the day are. We are planning a homebirth with this, our third child. My dds like watching "the baby show" and I feel like it's important for them to hear the sounds of labor and see what the baby looks like when it comes out.

That said, most of the episodes on here, send me through the roof. You know, the mom is uncomfortable at 38 weeks-so she's gonna go get her water broken-have pitocin-have an epidural-and that baby better be out of there in 10 hours or they're gonna do a section-type.

I try to use my ire in a constructive manner, and think that those episodes are a good example of what I don't want to have happen.
