Luteal phase question

Thread Starter
My cycles have recently returned and I am currently on my fifth pp cycle. My luteal phase length is shorter (going from the standard 14 down to 11ish)since my cycles have returned. However I am curious if they are long enough to become pregnant. I realize it is shorter than ideal and the first two pp charts were 10 day luteal phases and the last two were 11 so I think they are slowly lengthening.

When I conceived my daughter I got a positive hpt 11 DPO, given that, and my current luteal phase does this give enough time for an egg to safely implant or not? How long after implantation will a hpt read positive, it was a target brand so nothing super-sensitive.

Thanks to all you charting gurus who can help! It's been a few years since I have done this charting thing

I was told by my OB/Gyn while TTC that anything less than 10 days is considered a luteal phase defect. So 10dpo should be ok for ttc.

A 10 day luteal phase is probably okay but some progesterone might be in order if it gets any shorter. I don't know if this is helpful at all but my luteal phase has gone from 14 to 6 days! I am charting now and I'm on day 8, and we are TTC, so I am hoping, hoping, hoping that something's sticking!

I started charting again when DS was about 10 months old and found out I was having very short (6 day!) luteal phases. I did some reading and decided to start taking Vitex to help lengthen my LP. I only did one cycle on it, but instead of AF coming on 7 dpo as she had been, my temperature went up and at 11 dpo I got a BFP. Here is my chart if you want to see what my cycles looked like, just scroll down a bit.

Good luck!
