and i feel *great!* today! i highly recommend 14 hours of sleep, if you can do it! I made dinner for dh and dd and as we were getting ready to sit down and eat i realized that i really wasn't hungry and i was exhausted on the verge of weepy. I so said, well, have a great dinner! and went to bed. Dd came in a nursed a bit before bed and otherwise i didnt' get up until 3 am when i had 1/2 bagel I didnt' sleep straight through, but i am sooooo rested today. I think i might try to do this every few days until the end. what a difference!! and i figure the more rest i get now, the more energy my body will have for the main event...

When I was pg with ds I often slept long stretches like that, but I tend to stay up later this time b/c otherwise I don't have a minute without someone climbing on me.

I need to do this tonight. I had a rotten night last night and I'm exhausted. Dd has dropped her naps so I'm "on" all day, unless I fall asleep reading her a book, which happened on Monday. She then tore apart the living room.

yeah, dd hasn't been napping here since christmas. it took me a few weeks to get used to and then it wasn't bad because she was ready for bed by 6 pm, so i got these nice chunks in the evening. but now that it's lighter so much later, that's not working. we've started putting dark sheets up over her windows at night, and that's helped. bedtime is about 7, 7:30 and some mornings she actually sleeps past dawn!

it occurred to me the other day that i haven't needed and alarm clock since dd was born...

Wow, that sounds great! With the time change (we just started DST) it's light out until 10pm or so, so it's hard for me to even seriously consider going to bed before then. Luckily the kids let me sleep in until 9am this morning so I got almost 10 hours sleep.
