Our bathroom sink was clogged for a good month (very slow-moving water) So eventually i tried pouring in a bunch of baking soda, adding vinegar, then topping off with a kettle of boiling water. It didn't budge. I resorted to Drano, which fixed the clog, but a couple days after that I noticed our bathroom had this mouldy/mildewy stink to it....I cleaned the bathroom vigorously, but then realized it was coming from the sink's drain. I did the B.Soda treatment again, and it worked for a couple days (I think....unless i just liked to pretend it did) but now it's back again. It stinks! It stinks the whole bathroom, and you can smell it walking by...I'm not okay with this, it can't be healthy- what do I do!!??

Are you on a public water supply? My mom had problems with sewer gasses coming back up through her shower and had tried EVERYTHING. She had to plug it up when not in use to keep it from stinking the whole house up. Since they redid the pipes in the boulevard, it's taken care of the problem so obviously something was up out there.

Hmmm....We are on city water, but if was that then wouldn't all the drains stink? It's just the bathroom sink specifically.

I don't know, it sounds localized. Maybe there is something still down there that has not been broken up all the way. I would keep trying the treatment. I have also heard that if you just keep boiling water all day and dumping it down that sometimes finally the plug will clear the pipe. A lot of water, but better than drano, imo.
