I went in with what I knew was back labor on Friday, then Saturday at 2:57pm Michael was born! An incredible miracle for me, my others being 35, 35, and 31. He did have some surfactant issues. He was on a canula with 25% oxygen Saturday, but had to be transferred to a better NICU Sunday. He was on a vent at 50% oxygen and given a shot of surfactant. Monday morning, he was weaned off the vent onto a CPAP still at 50%. Yesterday he was able to lower to 30% and start 6cc of milk every 3 hours. And TODAY he was taken off the CPAP and on a canula at room air! And they bumped his milk to 12cc every 3 hours. I got to hold him for the first time today! They put him under the lights, though, because his bilirubin did get high. I'm so excited. He's progressing so much everyday and I expect he'll be home by early next week!
