Looking for a Labor Support in Alabama

Thread Starter
Hi all! I'm due on August 12, 2006 and looking for a doula or someone that is training to become a doula to help support me during my labor. I am planning on a natural VBAC. This will be my 3rd child. I will do most of my laboring at home and than deliver at the local hospital that is only about 5 minutes from my house. We are a low income family so are not able to pay much if anything. If you are interested, please e-mail me! NikiAngelaW@yahoo.com
Thanks!!!

Niki! What part of AL are you in? I am in Bham and a doula, though not currently taking new clients since I am pregnant as well. Drop me a private message if you'd like and I can hlpe you out. Also, we have alabama breastfeeding group with lots of mamas from around the state. One of them might be able to help you out. you can find us by going to www.yahoogroups.com and searching for AlBf. I am a mod, so I will approve you as soonas you fill out the questions!

If you're in north AL, I can point you in the direction of some doulas. I know the one I'd normally recommend is on "maternity leave" , but she'd probably be able to recommend others in the Huntsville area if you're anywhere close to that.

Vera, did you train with Renata by chance?

Oh, I'm not a doula/midwife/etc... just passing on info about doulas in my area. So no, I haven't trained with Renata.
