Can AF come and go?

There's no place to put this so I'm hoping this fits in the "Beyond" part of this forum.

After 7 months, AF came back. But now it's been 6 or 7 weeks (I never really kept that good track) and no sign again. I know it can be delayed because of EBFing, but can it come and go? I figured once it started it would be back for good. Not that I'm complaining, really.

Yes, it can come and go. I had mine show up and then disappear again for months. I felt a little on edge the whole time. The next time I got it, it stayed and was fairly consistent.

I chose to buy cheap home pregnancies tests in bulk, it really helped me to keep from freaking out when AF was so unpredictable.

I think it is different for each woman.

There are two women (including me) in my mother's group who are still BF - our babes are 9 months old.

She told me that AF arrived and back to normal cycles not long after PP. From what I can see and from discussions, she BF on demand and through the night if needed.

At 4.5 months after PP, AF arrived much to my dismay. I had hoped that as I was still exclusively BF that she wouldn't arrive until much later.

The next month I waited for her arrival. She didn't show up again until another four months later.

I spoke to my physician to see if it was normal as other mothers had returned to a normal cycle after AF arrived. He said that it was perfectly normal.

Moved to fertility.

It is very normal. That isn't the way it happened for me. Once mine came back, it stayed and was consistent. However, many women have their periods come and go, depending on how often baby nurses, growth spurts, hormone levels, etc.
