How are our weightloss mamas doing? - Page 2

Panthira - How did you like the Y?

Chocolate is like crack to me - I have been having major chocolate cravings the past few days evil demon begone!!

wawoof - I appreciate your perspective.. I have way too much AP guilt, LOL...it's true that if I am laid up all the time with back pain from carrying too much weight, it will be a lot harder to be an attached parent!!

Today felt like a pretty good food day - my back is a lot better but I still am a little wary about major exercising. I did some yoga last night after ds went to sleep, and I'll do some again tonight. Maybe tomorrow I'll be up for a short walk!

Let's keep this thread going and keep each other posted on our progress...maybe we could do monthly threads or something?

I hate to write my weight, but here goes:

Pre-pregnancy I went from 205 to 160, which is actually a really good weight for me - I'm 5'4" but truly am big-boned. 145-150 would probably be a good goal range for me.

So... I'm now 209 and would like to give myself the rest of this year to get back down to my goal weight. I feel like I am eating pretty well, so I think once I start exercising it will hopefully come off fairly easily.

The Y was... OK. It's really expensive actually, but the childwatch is free and it looked clean and typical. I used the Y to lose weight after my twins were born years ago, and it worked out great then.
This Y though is a little beat up looking on the inside, and a lot of things weren't working. For the price, I'm going to look around first at other places before I decide.

Me too And I'll add sweet caffeinated beverages to the "crack" list too...

My biggest weight loss barriers right now are eating to compensate for low mood and low energy, and lack of time to workout. I try to work out while both DSs are at daycare, but I don't have time on my teaching days (TTh) between teaching, visiting DS at daycare, and pumping 2x. On my nonteaching work days I try to work out, but sometimes don't due to essential meetings and such. Working out will be a lot easier once my quarter is over in mid-June, but I don't want to wait til then to make progress. On the weekends we try to do active family activities.

Hi ladies! Checkin' in.

The flu kicked off 5 pounds for me, so I'm now ~5 pounds above prepreg weight and 10 pounds above my preprofessor weigh.

I'm running a 5 miler (with hills, eeek!) on 5/29. I'm having a hard time finding a groove for running ever since Elliot decided that he only sleeps 45 minutes at a time once I put him to bed.

A non-dairy diet probably did the most for me, confirming my guess that I shouldn't eat so much ice cream. I'm running when I can, and I take the stairs at work -- that's a lot because my lab is 3 flights of stairs below my office.

my main obstacle is getting through the evening (dinner and after) by making healthy choices. it's so easy to eat poorly if i don't plan it out in advance. i eat great all day, then sometimes go overboard at night.

i currently go between 167-170 and hope to get down to 130-135 eventually (i'm 5'4" too). that would be to my pre-pregnancy weight with ds#1 (i gained 65 lbs that time and didn't lose it). that goal will take time but i have lots of mini goals on the way.

we can do it ladies!

:

I consumed half a family-sized, zip-top bag of M&Ms at work this week. Shameful.

Oh man, the sleep deprivation is killer. I'm struggling with PPD and the less sleep I get the worse it is, and the more I eat/drink to compensate for low mood & energy. What's really frustrating is that Galen usually sleeps fine when I lay him down in his sidecar crib and I'm awake & out of the room. Then when I come to bed he instantly detects the milk bar, wakes up, and wants to nurse for the remainder of the night. We sleep side-lying, but I still don't sleep well managing a nursing baby all night. I think I may have to give up sleeping in the same room with him because my presence seems to be making both of us sleep worse. I would feel really guilty and sad about not co-sleeping, though, since I WOHM during the day and Galen's in daycare from about 8am to 5pm, with only a visit from me mid-day. I feel like we really reconnect overnight. But then I'd be such a better mom during our awake time together if I got more sleep....
