Some Fun: What interesting things have you done/been doing to jumpstart labor

I thought we all needed a *fun* thread. I am due 5/14 - but I thought I would have this baby by now...and now I am feeling a little ummmm.....IMPATIENT!!!!
So Thursday - I washed my car, literally scrubbed it, so lots of bending over/squatting etc.

Friday - I went on a huge nesting expedition - cleaned the carpets.

Saturday - I mowed our lawn (with a riding lawnmower - about 2 acres worth) the thing is, our lawn is very uneven and bumpy - I thought for sure that would rattle the little one....

Sunday - Went strawberry picking for 2 hours with DS. Just me and DS (who will be turning 3) and we picked about 20# - no kidding. Lots of bending and squatting and rubbing my back!

Of course - sex too, but it never started anything with DS...so not sure how helpful that is!

Any other fun ideas out there?

What I've done has been related to my overzealous nesting instinct. Tons of laundry (up and down steep stairs- not good for PSD though ), vacuuming/sweeping the house pretty much daily, mopping the tile floors more often than usual, eating Olive Garden for dinner (and leftovers too!). I was ready to go mow the lawn (push mower) this weekend, but dh beat me to it.

sex

Raking, digging holes, planting trees, speading mulch, cleaning the bathroom, cleaning closets, laundry.

My doula said that oneof the hormones in sperm is the same as one they use to ripen the cervix, but a much higher concentration is present in the sperm itself. So, add sex to that list.

Getting to know my new breast pump. Mostly trying to figure out how it works, but also for nipple stim. I know this *can* cause string contractions, but so far it hasn't at all, so I'm not concerned. I'm a bit amazed that I pumped an ounce of colustrum in my half hour of experimenting with settings and such.

Besides the walking ALL over (including 30 minutes on teh treadmill at the gym!! ), sex, and all the bending over that my poor back would allow, I used Blue Cohosh... And I don't know if it was worked or not, but I went into labor and had Calvin the day after I started taking it!

Ah, the cohoshes are tempting me soooo much!!!! I'm only 39+2 though, so definitely not a good option for me yet. Maybe I'll just start brewing my RRL *really* strong....

I'm not really due yet so I'm not trying to push things...but I don't know where you all are getting all this energy! It took all I had today to go grocery shopping. I may be able to muster up a walk in a few minutes, but it will be a slow one.

We dtd a few days ago and I'm going to order that again, just for the prostelglands (I so know I didn't spell that correctly but I'm too lazy to look it up). Dd1 came at 39w5d so I figure I've got at least 2 weeks. If it comes to it I may try some cohosh and EPO.

We've been doing a lot of walking. At least an hour each evening (at my very, very slow pace this means we don't actually go very far, but still!). On the weekend, we've been taking 2 walks / day.

Also went out for spicy Thai (heh, this is mostly just because I love me some thai food!) and I've been on a pineapple binge.

Sad to say, sex has not interested me AT ALL, so that's not been going on. And the idea of nipple stimulation makes me want to cry, my poor nipples are soooo sensitive right now.

I think the walking has helped a ton with lots of things: getting baby into position and engaged, getting ME some exercise and out of the house, and giving DH and I some really nice quality time together every day. I've really liked that part the best.

walking, squatting, chasing after DD, breast pump, sex, super spicy food, wine, beer - you name it. LOL.

Today comes the cohosh.

Dh walked in the door yesterday at 5 p.m. I pulled him right into the bedroom and told him he was on call, every hour. LOL... it didn't turn out quite that way, after all we aren't 18 anymore. : But we did do it twice, 5 and 11. Like the evening news. Hahahahaaaa.... But then he said he wanted a good nights' sleep. So we both slept, and I woke up pg AGAIN!!!!! :

Oh the funniest thing is that we have this long standing "argument" that he says he always leaves work around 5 on Mondays, and I tell him he's never home until 6 or 6:30... so yesterday I teased him "SEE? See what would happen if you were coming home at 5????"

40 weeks today

Today (May 10th) marks 40 weeks for me. And still no baby to hold in my arms. Shes my first so I am extremely impatient. DH and I have been having sex for the past 3 days... nothing....

Today Im going to try some serious cleaning of the house. I thought I was in labor the other day but no luck. God I hope it happens soon. :
