I had my first today. At 14-15 DPO my level was 52. Within range. I don't go for the next until Monday. Hoping that number doubles and doubles!!

Is there anyone else agonizong over this stuff?

:

Not very NFL or MDC-ish of me, but I've had 4 betas so far and another one ordered for tomorrow, when I'll be 23dpo.

So far:

10dpo: 25
11dpo: 50 (yes, 11dpo, not 12)
14dpo: 254
18dpo: 1716
23dpo: ?

So, those are mine so far. I'm enjoying watching them rise!

After having one m/c I need all the security I can get. If I can have a good series of betas (even just 2-3) I can take a half sigh of relief.

I did one set, last week, one was a bit over 1000 and the second was a bit over 2000.

ME!

I think it's pretty typical for "infertility" patients to be monitored very closely in the beginning. My betas so far have been:

14 dpo: 211
17 dpo: 611
20 dpo: 2,304

The fertility nurse said my levels look great. The important factor is the doubling time, not the initial number. I'm going in for another one on Thursday morning and will report back then.

I did betas. I don't think it's not AP/NFL; it kept me sane, and isn't that part of the point?

My one hesitation was that I don't like to use testing unnecessarily because it raises the cost of health care in general (betas here are $80 a pop -- I didn't pay, but someone did). But after an early missed AB and TTC, I was happy to do my part to bankrupt the US health care system.

Yup, I had two tests done, because after one m/c and very little symptoms this time, I was kind of a nervous wreck!

Unfortunately, my cycle was still whacked from the m/c so I don't really know how many dpo I was when I took the tests, but the results were:

Day 1 (maybe 15 dpo?): 168.5 hcg/49.41 prog.
Day 2 (maybe 17 dpo?): 386.9 hcg/38.71 prog.

The doctor's office was happy with the increase and said not to worry and that no more tests were needed, so I'm just trying to be positive and patient until the first u/s at the end of the month.

I think anything you can do (within reason) to help your pregnancy be happy and stress-free is a good thing, for you and your little one.

IDK what a beta level even is? What does it tell you exactly?

Beta HCG is a measure of the amount of HCG (pregnancy hormone) in your blood. If the pregnancy is healthy and likely to continue, levels will double every 48-72 hours or so. Individual betas don't mean anything; it's the change in levels over time that does.

HI BE!!

Yes, Im doing the serial thing also!

My beta at 18 days was 111, not as high as I would have liked, but, like I said in my into, I think I grow things at a different rate; I think this bug took its time in finding a nice cozy spot to live for the next 10 months or so.

Going again on Friday and on Monday to start. Have 2 ultrasounds set up - one in 2 weeks (about 6 weeks along - I think ) and at 8 weeks, and possibly 12 weeks til we see a hb. Paranoid after DS early months, they (repro endo's) suggested a D&C for a blighted ovum at 7 weeks...but, I have an almost 3 year old to show for giving my body some time. Miracle.

to us all!!
