My first DA today

I am sort of upset but sort of not upset,


So I was at the DA for like 2 hours. They did everything it seemed, pap, you name it. BUT I was happy I got an ultrasound!! He told me we were looking for the sac, yolk, and fetal pole. There was a sac and yolk but no fetal pole to be seen. He said that may or maynot mean anything though. They took my blood and I go back on Friday to get them to take my blood again and see if my numbers double. I will know by Monday if this baby will be sticking or not.

If the numbers do double I go back June 1st for another ultrasound!

Oh and I fudged on my LMP!! LOL only by 2 days though!

I did some research online and it seems that most fetal poles aren't seen tell around 6 weeks. I am not there yet so I think this doctor is being a bit over protective of our little bean already lol. So I am not as worried now. I bet on June 1st we will see her with her heart beating away!!

Jessica, glad you found some good info.

I'm curious how you were able to have an u/s done so early...? My first is not for another 3 weeks (aah!) which is really hard for me because I'm very worried about this pregnancy (because of lack of symptoms and previous m/c)...I didn't exactly beg to have one done sooner, but was told that there is no reason to have one earlier and that they don't normally do one until the 9th week (mine will be in the 8th week). Are there magic words I could use?

I didn't even ask. The OB wanted to do it. I would wait if I was you, I agree with your doc there just isn't much to see. It really didn't look like much at all. I know its hard to wait but hold in there.
