Prodromal Labor Ladies - I'm Jealous!

Really, I am!At 35 weeks, baby was right on my cervix, causing lots of contractions and cervical pain...this concerned me, because it was early, but it also let me know that things were happening. At 37 weeks, baby bobbed up and although still head down is not on my cervix! So...I am fairly comfortable, just braxton hicks, but I don't feel like ANYTHING is happening!

Due date is 5/14...but I am starting to think that it may go WAY past that!

I had been staying close to home, but decided that will drive me crazy - so took DS out for a day of fun! Plan to do it some more this week!

Anybody with me on not feeling any movement toward labor????

On the plus side, I didn't feel it with DS either. Was 2 days past my due date when my water suddenly broke and had DS early the next day...so, I know that it doesn't mean anything...but still, I want to see/feel some progress!

BBM if you read this...don't hit me!

Can't say I'm jealous, but I don't have any super big signs, either. I have ongoing BH, but nothing to start keeping track of. Occasional pressure on my cervix, but baby's head isn't that far down yet. Dd1's head didn't get far down until 38.5 weeks, and since this is my 2nd that may never happen.

But, I'm ready. Anytime, baby.

My 2nd baby was like that.... absolutely NO signs of labor at ALL... until the morning of the beginning of the 42nd week I had some "feelings" and crampiness.... MIL took me to breakfast, then we went shopping, then came home to watch Little Women on video. CTX started around 3:30 p.m. and he was born 8:46 p.m.

But it was like 0 to 10 just like that.... easy as pie. The weeks leading up to it, no symptoms, no nothing... no worrying, no guessing... just going about my business with my 2yo...

There are upsides and downsides to all variables aren't there?

My baby is being a tease.

This morning I woke up and she was VERY low - I could feel her head only a few cm inside my vagina. A few hours later, I could still feel her head from inside myself, but much much higher. Especially considering this is a first baby, I thought she'd get low and stay that low. I've been checking myself out of curiousity, even though I know it doesn't mean much, and I'm about 1.5cm and maybe 50% effaced. I think it'll be awhile... no painful cntx, only BH that I don't even notice unless I touch my belly at the time.

hehehe! I know what you mean. In my first 2 pregnancies whenever someone mentioned a BH cntx I thought she was so lucky. I had NO signs of labor whatsoever until I was actually IN labor, and both labors started off in active labor. None of this wimpy contractions 10 minutes apart crap for three weeks before the birth. I was just posting about this on another board - my daughter wasn't even engaged until after labor started. My water broke and was totally gushing, and I could tell she was still up high and wasn't plugging the birth canal to stop the gush! Shortly after my water broke I could feel her whoosh down, and the water stopped gushing. She was born less than 3 hours after that happened. That is with NO early labor, NO BH cntx throughout the entire pregnancy, nothing.

Thanks for the laugh, too bad it didn't bring on active labor though.

Every morning my husband asks "are you going to go into labor today?" and I keep saying "no." One of these days I'm going to be wrong, but right now I don't feel or sense any signs of it happening anytime really soon. Lots of painless, even unnoticable, BH, but I've been having those for weeks. I've been feeling pretty good and energetic the past few days and I'm hoping to enjoy that just a little bit longer!

I have absolutely no signs of labor either, but then again, I'm not due until the 18th and my babies have both been "late". No pressure, no pain, no contractions (other than BH in the evening). I've been a cleaning, organizing fool for the last two days, but other than that, nada. Last time, the only sign that I had that labor might begin soon was that I was an aboslute raging B!tch the day before !!!!!

Trust me, I'd rather things were mellow like this than deal with days and days of prodromal labor. I've been reading that thread and it sounds like it really is tough .

Also due the 18th and not much going on here, some BH in the evening, too. But I have a cold, so the baby can't come out until I'm well.
