EC with a boy, or, "Son, don't grab that; you're cutting off the flow"

My 5 month old boy has discovered that he's been equipped with a handle perfect for grabbing. Since his busy little hands need to be gripping something at all times, he's guaranteed to grab a handful every time I change his diaper. I keep thinking he's going to hurt himself but apparently that hasn't happened. It does make things a bit difficult when I'm holding him over the sink for him to pee. I guess it's time to get him a baby potty

that's funny. that was just my suggestion. reed sometimes does the same thing when i hold him over the sink or potty (among other things like trying to strighten his legs completely). we're now trying the bblp as much as holding over the potty/sink now and it seems to be working.

other than that, how's EC going for you all? we catch more than half, with the misses usually being at night and while we're out on walks or the playground. i still love to potty him (isn't that different than felings about changing diapers?) and i love the communication between us. i think that's the best part of EC. poops are 100% catch rate. i really want to catch more, but he doesn't signals for pees. any ideas?

Andrea, have you tried timing for the pees? I.e. note what times he does pee for a day or two then try preempting his pees the next day?! I don't know, worth a try maybe.

We've been doing badly with poos lately, which is so odd to me. Mostly our misses do happen when I am not holding her or otherwise paying enough attention.

Nighttime has been going really well though! I have even caught some middle of the night poos.

I think a BBLP is an excellent idea afor a little boy. We had those same problems!
