Anyone else (who's still pregnant) having trouble eating well in the last weeks?

For the last couple of weeks, my eating habits have gotten SO bad. My meals are still fairly healthy, but I am eating so much JUNK in between. Today, for instance, I had: 1 fudge pop (organic!), lots of "cheez-it" style crackers (organic!), a white English muffin (organic!), and maybe 6 or 7 Fig Newtons (decidedly not organic)--to say nothing of the dozen or so Fig Newtons I had yesterday. : I've been eating ice cream 4 or 5 times a week--chocolate marshmallow from the Hershey's store down the street --and a lot more processed food as well (pretzels, etc.).

Unlike other times in my pregnancy, though, I just don't feel quite in control of what I eat. I'm hungry so much of the time, but all I really want is crapfood. I've tried the old "eat something healthy first" tactic, but then I just eat the healthy something and THEN have whatever junk sounded good in the first place.

Suggestions? Or just let it go and assume that I'm not doing too much damage to the bun?

I'm having trouble too. Ever since we had sewer issues and couldn't use our sinks/toilet/bath I just haven't been keeping healthy food in the house quite as well. Not to mention I don't have a lot of appetite these days. <sigh>

At least you're eating healthy stuff and the junk!

A bit, but I think it's due more to being back in school and having long days and a long commute than anything else. My solution to junk food snackiness has been extra meals. Tonight we're having chicken alfredo with whole-grain pasta and veggies now and soup and fruit later on. We usually have two breakfasts too. This morning it was toast and eggs first and then yogurt when we got to school.

I'm right there w/ ya. I've been eating ice cream pretty much every night. I just bought some chocolate muffins and organic oreos. I try to limit how much 'junk' I eat at a time but man..I don't know what's gotten into me. I want chocolate chocolate and more chocolate!

several threads ago (i think the week or so after easter) there was a similar discussion and i posted that i'd decided to cut sugar until the babe was born.. hah! that lasted about 2 weeks! i'm right there with you all... my meals are good, the snacks are not. i'm munching on Puffins right now (yeah, the cereal) because i'm craving sugar and we have nothing in the house! (except left over jelly beans, which i definitley cant' stomach right now...) i'd kill for some ice cream...

Yip,here too.I found out if I keep a cup of herbal tea around, I don't snack on as much crap-the flavors don't go well together.I may make cherry pie tonight, but I know if I do,it will never see the light of day!
It doesn't help that we have no $ for grogeries, and nothing great to eat. We're having boiled eggs for dinner with apple juice from concentrate.BLAH.I have a hard time eating eggs this preganacy too.boo-hoo.Thus the pie consideration.
Last week I had a bannana split marathon YUM!
You know it's bad when you want to go into labor just for someone to bring over a tasty dinner! And of course,a dessert!

Rolo ice cream is a tool of the devil. I'm just sayin'.

No organic, no healthy food here! Nope, all i want is junk, pizza and totally processed stuff. I had to make DH run out and buy me those gross microwaved chicken pot pies the other day. And people say pica is bad.

I haven't been too bad except for my chocolate love, but I have way overspent the grocery budget for this month. That's a definite added cost of being pg for me.

I don't think that sounds like total crap! You're craving carbs, it seems, which is normal since the baby isn't really gaining length but bulk right now. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

And if you think you crave carbs now, wait until you're nursing...

Oh gosh... that's part of the reason I have to be careful while nursing. HUGE appetite and cravings for carbs, if not watched I gain weight instead of losing! I need to be careful to keep taking my prenatals because it does help with cravings while bf'ing- at least for me it does...

I am definitely craving carbs like never before. Usually during my pregnancy I crave high-iron foods but suddenly they have no appeal to me (which isn't good in my case, since I am anemic...I have to force myself to get a good iron intake, or else I'd be eating cinnamon toast all day long).

Im at about 22 weeks now and the only thing I've noticed in my appetite is that I am just not hungry. I have to force myself to eat and NOTHING seems to taste good for me. I'm a big fan of popsicles and that's about it. This will go on for about a week or so and then one day I'll be so hungry and everything I look at I crave. I don't get the one day cravings??? Anyone else feel this way or know what to do to make myself want to eat something???

I'm all about the Haagen Daaz these days. At least it has calcium

I'm living on a generic (read: no high fructose corn syrup ) version of rice krispies. Not as bad as ice cream, at least it has some vitamins added, but it is hardly a balanced diet.
