Missed Period? - UPDATE

I had some strange bleeding a few months ago so my OB/GYN suggested I keep a menstrual record. I had a period in December, January... recular. Then end of Feb. and another one exactly a month later. However, now I seem to have missed the end of April's. Should've been April 30 or May 1 and nothing. Now I think I might be ovulating but who knows. Is that possible?

ETA: UPDATE: AF showed first thing this morning, right after I took my temp and it was dropped! Yippee!

So here it is the 18th. Still no period. Fertile mucous not around. Maybe wait for the end of the month again? Can you just plain old skip a period and then have ovulation when you would've and the next period show up on time?

Have you tested to be sure you aren't pregnant?

You can not ovulate on regular schedule, and ovulate very late- in this case I guess it would be a month late, and then AF would show up like usual. When I was breastfeeding my dd I only had a period about every 60 days for a while. I've also had very late (like a month late) periods due to stress.

However, a blighted ovum can also cause this problem. It results when an unfertilized egg tries to act fertilizes. Werid problem that isn't as rare as it sounds.

s It stinks when your body doesn't do what it should.

Peace,

No I have not tested, but I have the Mirena IUD and I don't FEEL pregnant.

Thanks for the reply. I will get back to this thread if there are any updates. Period- when it shows up or HPT results.

Hmm. I just took my temp and it was 99.4. A bit high. Usually runs 97.something. I'm thinking its just post-O, but we'll see.

I can't help with the ovulation interval, but I just wanted to add that having a Mirena IUD can change your fertility signals. It has progesterone in it, and can often stop you from ovulating and/or having your period. How long have you had the Mirena?

I've had my period fairly regularly- its become more regular, the longer I've had it, in fact. I've had it for 2 1/2 years.

Well I wrote that on the 12th and on the 14th I was at my boyfriend's house and noticed definite fertile mucus and we had sex and now 12 days later, (my usual luteal phase length) my period is here. So I guess that means my IUD works, huh?
