Me neither! I've tried checking myself though... not sure how dialated I am, at least a little bit and I can feel the baby's head *right there*.

If I go another week though, I'll have midwife strip my membranes if she can to see if we can get things going at 42 weeks.

I haven't either..

but I have been checking myself out of curiosity, even though I know it doesn't mean much. Still high and about 1.5cm.

My last THREE pregnancies the only pelvic exams I got were done myself or by DH..... I actually birthed a 10 lb baby without ANYONE ever checking to see if I was 10 cm.

Will wonders never cease.... Don't let the secret get out, it's possible a revolution would start and we could ruin the entire hospital birth empire and an entire professional group of obstetric surgeons.......

For the record... I've been totally effaced and my exterior os has been completely open for weeks. My interior os, before the movie last night at about 8:30 p.m. was 1.5cm... after the movie (sat on the birth ball and had lots of cramping pains) I could get 2 fingers easily in. Woke up and checked about 5 a.m. and could just get 3 fingers in. At 10:30 a.m. I could get 3 fingers in and stretch them around and could totally feel the membrane.....

Now if these contractions would get strong enough to push baby through that little hole..... :

Anyhow our movie was Fun With Dick and Jane.... Now I am picturing the entire OB/hospital birth industry collapsing as a spokesperson on TV grills the president of the ACOG-- "Isn't it true that babies can be pushed out without anyone ever giving the woman permission to start pushing?"

I've tried checking myself, but I can't feel anything that remotely resembles a baby! Off to search for the "how to!"

LOL... when I find my cervical os and put my finger in, I encounter a hard object that doesn't move. That is surely baby's head. At least I sure hope so.

Thanks for the link! I gave it a try but I got lost. I'm going to ask DH to have a go at it later, because I really don't know what I'm doing.
