November Mammas - Page 5

Yay! I'm so happy for all of us! Congratulations everyone!

I'm feeling SO much better today. I slept all weekend. I tossed my cookies for the first time on Saturday, but since then my stomach has felt a lot more settled (knock on wood).

I'm reading Spiritual Midwifery and it's very good. I think this is going to be a great week - the weather here is so nice.

Has anyone had their first prenatal yet? We're meeting a doctor for a consultation in a week.

Wishing everyone calm stomachs and plenty of naptime.

Honey- one of the midwives that I interviewed told me about a homeopathic product called "cold snap" that is supposedly safe to take during pregnancy. I also had the worst cold/caugh when I found out I was pregnant.

My morning cruddyness (that is what I called it because I wasn't nauseous or sick, just felt cruddy) has changed to night time cruddiness. I wake up ready to eat and feel like I can eat all day long. Then comes dinner time and I want to count myself out. I have been going to sleep early (8:30 last night) and I wake up every 1 1/2-2 hours to pee, it is driving me crazy.

I am going for my first prenatal appointment with my midwife in just over an hour. I am excited. Dh and I are both leaving work for the appointment- and I am not coming back!

Two more things- The book "Wise Woman Herbal- A guide to the childbearing year" by Susan Weed is excellent. It basically walks you thru trying to conceive (which we all accomplished- yay!) to pregnancy and then the first few months of motherhood and caring for an infant. It is wonderful. Also- I have been wearing my pants unbottoned for about a week and a half by now. I wore maternity pants around the house yesterday- more comfy. And my boobs are finally growing which is a good thing b/c I am so flat chested when not prego or nursing.

Julieshayna, I thought I was bad waking up 2-3 times a night to pee, but every 1.5-2, you might as well have a newborn. I was so happy that my son finally sleeps all night, and now I have to get up to go pee all the time, I guess I am just not meant to get a full night of uninterrupted sleep. I am going to my first appointment on Thursday, I am excited. Well talk to you gals later

Is it just my imagination, or is my belly growing already? is it too early?? It seems so early...

I am an XL sized woman, tending to be a little more apple-y than pear-y, so my pants have always been snug around the waist. I am only 6wks pregnant and already I can't button my pants without discomfort! I know I haven't gained weight, in fact I've lost 5lbs in the last 2-3 weeks because I've been eating better, walking, and the nausea.

Is it just my imagination? :

Also, I wanted to pass along that I've noticed if I drink a big mug of raspberry leaf tea before bed and eat something smallish, like a toasted english muffin, I wake up about 50% less nauseated. Really, it's amazing! Can you drink too much raspberry leaf tea? It's the only thing that truly has helped the nausea so far with any regularity.

Good morning everyone.

I get to meet my midwife today (or the lady I hope will be my midwife) I'm really looking forward to it.
I told my boss a little while lie as well, told her my appointment was earlier than it actually is, so I can leave work a little early, and with any luck get a nap before we go.....

Have a great DAY - Welcome to all the "new" November Mommy's to be.

Ok- a lot of us have mentioned that our bellies are getting bigger and our pants are tight. What are you ladies doing about it? I am not ready to wear maternity clothes but I am sick of walking around my office with my pants unbottoned! I am a small person (when not pregnant) and most of my clothes are form fitted. It's hard to hide the unbottoned pants.

I had my first midwife appt. yesterday. She is awesome! I am so happy with my choice. She gives each of her client's a foot massage at each appointment. She has many reasons but the two major reasons are to honor us as we are carrying a new life inside of us and making informed choices to do it in a natural way and also- the coolest- is that she figures after months and months of foot massages, her clients will be very comfortable with her touch when it comes time for her to help out at the birth. I have already gained 3 pounds! She could feel where my placenta is forming and I am healthy.

A bit of a subject change... sorry!

Anybody feeling strangely well with no real symptoms? I have yet to feel nausea or have any sort of weird food craving (with dd I ate ham and cheese like a maniac), and have been feeling way too good to be pregnant! I'm a little sleepier than normal, but nothing too out of the ordinary. The tummy's really not any bigger, but i feel "full" abdominally.
Am I just lucky and alone or is anyone else feeling too good to be true???

Hello!!!

Julie..your midwife sounds great! I'd really look forward to each of my appts! I don't go until April 15th...my first u/s and the reason why I'm getting one is because I need the reassurance of a heartbeat!

I wear alot of skirts that go down to my ankles with a waistband...but it's starting to feel snug!! I feel bloated all the time!!! But it's a little

Eirrak...it may be too early..but my stomach is fine too. I'm just really tired and took a nap in my car during lunch (with a timer on...)

Chelly...hope your appt went well!!!

I think time is going by slowly....!!I'm in my 4th week...seems so early compared to all of you!!!

Gotta get back to work!!

You know I didn't feel pregnant at all until week 6 hit, and then bamm, so sometimes it just hits you all of a sudden. I have bee extrememly fatigued and nauseous, and had also missed my regular workouts because my son is sick so can't go to the gym, well this week I have been going again and the nausea and fatigue got alot better, so here's to working out. It does me a world of good.

sagewinna, I cleared out my pm box so it should work now

I can't believe I just found this thread. I have been waiting to be a part of a mommas thread and I thought it might be too early to start a November mommas thread, but here y'all are. I am due Nov. 15th with my very first one ever. I had an appointment yesterday and I got to see the heartbeat. It was so cool! My boobs are sore, I am exhausted and my tastebuds don't work very well. Sweets repulse me and all I am craving is Salad and veggies. There, I think I might be caught up. WOO HOO! I'm pregnant!!!!!

I'd not worry too much about it. With my first I didn't show, didn't have and m/s, didn't need mat clothes til I was nearly 8 months. (And my first was 8lbx, 9 oz) I didn't get any cravings until about 6 months, raw carrots..mmmmm. I wish it were so blithful this time around..lol.. but alas, having been pregnany 6 times previously, I won't be so lucky, nor do I expect to.

Gee, I didn't introduce myself!

Pregnancy brain..lol..

I'm mama to 3 here, ds8, dd6, dd4, there are 3 in heaven waiting for me, a baby boy and 2 others. Now we're expecting once again. This is hopefully the 4th addition to our earthly family.

I've been paranoid, anxious this time. But so far so good. I have my first OB appt in 2 weeks. I'll be 10 weeks or so then. I keep running into twins.. I'm getting to wonder...lol...

With a little lock and a lot of prayer, my baby will be born in mid November..lol. FIL in Nov 10, DM is Nov. 11 and baby bop here is due 11/12..lol.. can we say a busy month?? Oh and dneice on the 4th..lol

Here's happy hormones, sticky vibes and full term babes!

I just found out a few days ago that I am pregnant with baby #3. My first ob appt. is in 2 weeks so I'll have a better idea as to the edd then. By my rough calculations it should be the end of November or early December. It was quite a shock when we found out we were pregnant, we had wanted to wait for a couple more months before we started trying, but I guess sweetpea here had different plans. DD1 is 8, dd2 is almost 2 and completely confused! I told her there was a baby in my belly, she lifed up my shirt and said "where baby go?" Then she tried to pry my belly button open so she could look for the baby. So cute. So far I haven't really gotten any symptoms, pretty tired and slightly queasy but nothing bad. Both of my previous pregancies I was plagued with hyperemesis for the entire pregnancy. I hope it isn't as bad this time. I deliver real easy though. DD1's labor was about 12 hours, dd2's was just short of 4 hours from my first contraction (when my water broke) to delivery. DH says we'll have to camp out in front of the hospital the last week before the baby is due so we make it inside in time : Here's to happy, healthy mamas and babes, unqueasy tummies and easy pregnancies for all!

Thank you Chelly, I am so very excited. So is my husband. We were not planning or trying for one, I guess God just decided we needed a baby. I have also discovered that antibiotics decrease the effectiveness of the Birth Control Pill. SURPRISE!!!!

I'm back from meeting my midwife (I say MY like its already been decided)

She is a lovely lady, much younger than I thought she would be, very relaxed, and knowledgable. She seemed very comfortable with a HBAC, in fact it didn't seem to be an issue at all. It took us just 20 minutes in heavy traffic to get to her "office" which is GREAT!
She said I should still go ahead and interview a few more midwives, but they're all much further away from us, a fact which I take rather serious - even for pre-natal visits, it would be a real pain to drive longer than 20 minutes each way!

I'm very pleased

Chelly
