White lines on nailbeds?

I don't know if any of you will know what this is, but I thought I'd give it a shot. Today I noticed something different on my fingernails. You know how you have the pink bed part and then the white part that extends out? Well under the white part (but on the pink bed, maybe 1-2 mm down) each nail has a little white line that curves in the same direction as the white extending part. Like little frowns. It looks kinda like it does when you bend your nail back too far but it doesn't break. Does this make any sense at all? Well, all 10 nails have it. I was wondering if this was some sort of deficiency or nutritional problem. Any ideas??

Well, my dear grandmother told me as a child that those were 'lie lines' '

More recently I learned that one of the causes is calcium deposits. Although I would have your OB/midwife take a look in case it has something to do with nutrition.

It can also be related to Celiac disease.

I don't have white lines, but man are my fingernails ever growing quickly! It's quite funny actually - i bite them off and then the next day it's as if I never chewed them!
