breastfeeding compatible ways of forcing o?

Hello,
Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but...

For some reason, I rarely O on my own. I needed clomid to conceive my son... I am now almost 12 months pp and we really want to try for another one. According to my dr's, I need to wean completely before they will prescribe clomid, since it passes to the baby ... but, I don't really want to wean. Anyone know if there is anything I can do to bring on O without stopping bf? (I tried vitex (fertility blend) the first time around, and it didnt really do anything for me)

To my knowledge there is no evidence that clomid passes to the breastmilk. The only issue with clomid and breastfeeding is that in some cases it decreases supply. Personally, I took 50mg for three months and then 100mg for a month while nursing my son.( and then into my pregnancy) with no milk issues at all. But everyone's different.

I just wanted to say that you might want to wait a little longer to ttc your next baby. I know it is tempting to want 2 year age spacing. But you should take time to think about how long you want to nurse your ds and how much you think your body is up for. I know there are moms here who bf through pregnancy- but not everyone is able to do that.

Personally, when my dd turned 1, I knew I wanted to bf until she was 2, so I decided then to not ttc until after she turned 2, just incase I would loose my supply due to pregnancy. Despite no prior problems with fertility, I was unable to concieve while nursing, but I still didn't wean dd until she and I were both ready after she turned 3. I ultimately decided I was young enough to wait until my dd was a little older before I had a second child. And I do not regret waiting for the second baby, I feel my dd is going to be really ready to be a big sister when the time comes- and she wouldn't have been at 2.

Just wanted to give you something else to think about.

want to TTC as soon as my returns. DS is 10m now though.
I haven't tried vitex yet though, but I heard drinking grapefruit jucie will cause ovulation.... but i dunno.
