I have been in prodromal hell for a while now, but yesterday I thought I was in real labor because the cntx were coming regularly and with more intensity. I am timing them again today and they are approx 6 minutes apart. I have a history of skipping early labor completely and going straight into hard active labor, and I honestly don't know when I should call DH and have him make the 90 minute trek home. My OB is very supportive of my wishes for NCB, has not pushed internal exams or anything like that on me at all, etc. But, I'm wondering what she might say or do if I called her and asked her for her professional opinion of what I should do. Surely she has had experience with prodromal ladies and might be able to offer some advice (even if it's "yeah, call your husband, keep timing, and call me when it gets interesting") but I'm also afraid she might not give me any advice without having me go in for a check. I know I can refuse to consent to it but at this point I'm getting a little desperate. Ughhh this post isr eally more to vent than anything else I guess, but what would you do?

Need some advice - what do you think my OB would do if I called?

I would call, because otherwise you might just torment yourself wondering about the options. She might say she can/wants to check you, which you can refuse as you said. That's your call. She might offer other ideas like come in and check vitals, measure ctx etc. It doesn't hurt to see what she says over the phone, just make sure you decide what you want to do based on your own knowledge and comfort level, in case she's a "just in case" doc. Good luck, I hope you meet baby soon!
