Scrubs...phimosis

Not sure if ant of you watch "scrubs" but thought I would mention that a surgeon on the show saw a kid with phimosis and recommended that he pleasure himself 5 times a week rather than circ. Now I know we all know that phimosis doesn't need a circ but I always like it when stuff like this ends up on mainstream tv.

Seriously? That's awesome! I used to watch Scrubs a lot but haven't recently.

I like the show, but didn't get a chance to watch tonight. Too bad I'm not on the west coast so I could still catch it!

i saw that too! The first thing I thought was - oh, that will be on MDC. Then I thought - oh, an intact kid on scrubs, cool.

wow thats awesome

ooooo! can't wait to see it! we record it with the DVR and watch it on the weekend.
there was one a while back that pro-intact, too. i am pleased about that cuz nothing sucks about TV as much as really being into a show and then having that love ruined by a bad breastfeeding or circumcision segment or something like that.

Right after Jack was born, Dr. Cox told Jordan that she'd have to explain to their son why his pee-pee had a turtleneck and Daddy's didn't.

Very pro-intact show, from what I've seen!

Yup, a pro-intact show. First or second season there was an episode where a couple were arguing over whether or not to circ their newborn son. All the staff were against it. And Dr. Kelso made a comment when the Dad brought up the looking the same argument. It was something to the effect of the kid would have to gain 200 pounds to look like dad! Hee hee!

Oh, and did anyone catch tonight when JD was in pain from horseback riding that the girl doctor (can't remember her name) checked if his retraction was ok. So, JD is intact.

WOW!

I love Scrubs! I knew they had one pro-intact episode but I had no idea that they would go through it again and with something so specific and it is amazing that the Beauge Method is finally getting some airtime on something so mainstream!

Very pleased to hear this, and good for JD too! Never knew that...I actually had wondered though.

I didn't even notice the retraction thing, but I remember it now that you mention it. Wow, there's definitely an intactivist on that show for it to be mentioned so many times!

They had some other anti-circ stuff in the past on the show. I like how its cleverly hidden in there with a nice edge of humor.

Yep-we saw this too.

The problem is my DH (who I've barely convinced to leave son intact) says "well, obviously phimosis is more common than you say, if it's being mentioned it on this show". UGH!

I thought this said "5 times a day" when I first read it.

Haha! If a mention by TV doctors means something is common, I'm surprised I'm not an intersexed supermodel with brain amoebas and fungus in my blood, not to mention the celiac disease that makes me hear voices telling me to harm my baby! I just love House.

I saw this too and came over to see if anyone had mentioned it. Never thought about how many other anti-circ references there are in that show though. There really are quite a lot of them.
