This is just a phase right???
My sweet wonderful dd has just started hitting.....sometimes when she doesn't get her own way and sometimes just bc she feels like it....and it's all out of the blue...nothing has changed in our lives....
And it isn't every day....but today it's been alot.....
I care for 2 girls, sisters, 3 and 17mo and have been for about 6 months now....so they aren't new to her world and she loves them coming here, first thing she asks in the morning.......dd is usually still asleep when the get here, wakes, eats, then goes to play...
The sisters play a bit rough with each other and dd thinks she can play like that with them too but they get mad and push her off and then she gives em a smackaroonie....I have no idea where it came from....I don't think the 3yo should be playing with her 17mo old sister like that but I havne't been able to change the behavior and the mom and I chat about it all the time....
The sisters push and pull on each other and the 3yo has no concept of sharing but is getting better....she's very defiant and bossy and i see her becoming the bully in school....it's her personality and her mom is at her wits end with it....
But this hitting dd is doing needs to stop and I need advice on how to do it...I can't put up a baby gate and tell her she can't play in her own house bc she's being mean...I have tried redirecting her and it works for a few minutes but then she'll go over and pick up a shape sorter shape and bonk someone on the head....I think she means it to be playing but she BONKS and then everyone starts screaming.....
Is it just a stage all 2yo go through???? My way or the highway toddler phase??????
It's just not be any kind of fun here this week....I'm exhausted from the constant peacekeeping that I haven't had to do up until this week....It's making me want to yell and I am NOT a yeller......
TIA
