No weight gain

Is it ok that I haven't gained any weight yet? I'm exactly 12 weeks today. I actually may have lost a little more. I'm just feeling nervous lately and seeing that I haven't gained any weight yet didn't help.

I am down 2-3 lbs so far since getting pregnant. I am not worried about it. With my first, I lost 10 lbs during the first trimester. I am a small person, too. Don't worry, you will start gaining soon.

I've lost five pounds so far, and no one seems concerned. I was a healthy weight begining this pregnancy, but even so, I think it's normal for some people to lose a little in the first trimester. I just want to know how I lost it, cause I don't throw up with morning sickness.

I am still down about 2 pounds as well. I was just at the OB yesterday and they didn't even mention it.

With dd#1 I lost about 10 lbs. the first trimester. I couldn't eat much, as everything made me want to hurl. Not to worry, I gained a total of 26 lbs. with the pregnancy and had a very healthy 7lb. 14oz. baby!

I lost 10 lbs during my first trimester/first pregnancy, and had gained 20 lbs. over pre-pregnancy weight by the end with a healthy dd. So far this time, at 10 weeks, I'm down 6 lbs, even though I'm eating a lot better than last time. (A lot less nausea--thank goodness!). No worries. I expect to start gaining in the second trimester.

I haven't gained anything either.

Yeah, I think it's very normal to lose the first trimester. I'm down 16 pounds since I was 6 weeks along. My OB is a little concerned with that loss only because I've got severe vomiting. It's under control with medication now, but I think in your case not gaining is completely normal.

With my daughter I dry heaved so much that I weighed exactly the same at three months as prior to pregnancy. Don't worry, in the end I gained the same amount of weight as my first pregnancy but in less time!

Not from this DDC, but wanted to respond.

I'm 23 weeks right now and I've finally just put on 2 lb. I think it's totally normal not to gain anything in the first tri. Especially when m/s is involved. I'm sure you'll start gaining soon! And I'm sure that little bean is perfectly healthy

Congratulations!

With DS#1 I lost 10lbs and didn't put it back on until I was 7.5 months along, and ended up only about 3 lbs above pre-pregnancy weight (he was a very good size when he was born - 7lbs6ozs at 36/37 weeks). With DS#2 I lost 12 lbs and only regained that so I gave birth to him at my pre-pregnancy weight (he was about 3.5/4 weeks early and 6lbs, 6ozs). So far, at 12 weeks, I am down 10lbs. Just an FYI, I don't get morning sickness, so I just seem to lose weight, and my midwife has never been worried about it.

I went to the midwife yesterday, and I hadn't gained anything at all either. I am also at about 12 weeks. She said that was completely normal, and nothing to worry about. She said that next month, though, I will have probably started to gain some weight. So, you aren't alone in not having gained anything. I'm right there with you!

You can have some of mine

My normal weight is 110..

I started this preg out at 140, so please, take some of mine..I'll be happy!

Last preg, I lost weight, then gained it back, so by 12 weeks, I was exactly the same weight as I started with. I think unless you are really underweight to begin with, you shouldn't worry. The baby doesn't weigh much, and all that growing you're doing is mostly fluid and things moving around and stretching, etc.

In that preg where I was the same at 12 weeks as when I started, I then proceeded to gain 22 lbs during the 2nd trimester. Didn't make it past 29w4d, but I'm sure I would have probably gained at least that amount in the third trimester too if I'd experienced it!

This preg, I've gained about 9 lbs already. That puts me at the same weight I was the week before I delivered my son. Ugh. I'm 13 weeks now. Although at my midwife appointment yesterday (first one with her this preg), her scale said I had LOST 1 lb! The scale is 10 lbs off, in the good direction. She says she keeps meaning to replace the scale, but all the women love it, so she's kept it!

Yeah, I haven't really gained much, maybe three pounds. I'm not too concerned, actually I'm thrilled because I'd gained 15+ lbs at this point with DS.

With my first I didn't...

with this one...It's awful how much I've already gained. I think it will be okay.

Thanks, everyone. I feel better now. I see my midwife on Tues. so hopefully everything will go well. Oh, and no, I'm not underweight. I'm about 20 pounds over (damn sweet tooth!) so losing some is not that big of a deal for me. I'm just always worried about something!
