Nursing study guide

I was looking at a nursing study guide today and came across the section on the reproductive system. The definition of external male genetalia reads

Quote:
1. Penis - erectile tissue, consists of the shaft and glans; outlet for urine and sperm.
2. Scrotum - skin-covered pouch holding the testes, epididymis, and lower part of the vas deferens. Located outside of the body to protect the sperm from high temperatures.

What happened to the foreskin??? This guide also ignores any and all problems and disorders related to circumcision and/or the foreskin. Phimosis, insufficient skin for erection, etc.

To be fair, the clitoral hood is also not mentioned under external female genetalia. So I guess this guide just completely forgets that humans have a prepuce.

I don't know if the link will work - it may only work on military computers. If it doesn't work, I'll try and find another page.

YEah wel when I was in nursing school in 2002 I was informed that circ was necessary to prevent UTI and cervical cancer in the boys partner. Hence I never researched it further until I came here and on my crappy advice my poor nephew is circd. I kick myself daily for that

So I am better informed on the prepuce than those people are supposed to depend upon for medical treatment?

This makes it far more easy to understand why so many forced retractions occur...
