Yea, Yippee, Yahoo!!

I talked to my sister today. She is pregnant with a boy. I have been dreading talking to her about circumcision because I didn't want to hear her say they were going to do it. I just couldn't live with it, it would make me so sick and so sad. Well, I asked her about it today, and it sounds like they will leave him intact!! In fact she said my BIL is very anti-circ even though he is cut. She was a little less confident, but after I gave her some information she was making plenty of pro-foreskin comments. I am so happy, this was my first intactavist moment with family, and it went so well!!! I have til mid-August to make sure, but I am really confident they will leave him be!!!

That is almost great news too! Only almost because your elder sister had it done, but at least first hand experience has put your younger one off. Be sure to follow through if/when she gets pregnant.

I'm so happy for you!

My step-sister circed her boy after she and her DH supposedly researched the issue and decided it would be better to get it done now instead of later. : Then my younger sister said if she and her DH ever have a boy, they will circ, and when I asked her why, she said it wasn't open for discussion.

I don't understand how educated and seemingly reasonable people conclude that circumcision is medically advantageous. I had to rant about it in my blog because I couldn't rant at my sister. : I emailed her husband all my resources on the issue. It has always seemed to me that a person should have the right to decide for themselves whether or not to have a part of their body altered or removed.

It is the power of repetition deception I suppose...
