I totally know what you mean, when I read "painless" birth stories I get all worked up, and its silly, I know. I can totally appreciate the ones where they admit that it was super intense, at least, even if they don't precieve the intensity as pain... I just wish I could do that!

Best of luck Nichole! Looking forward to hearing about your birth, I'm sure it will be awesome!

Well, I'm disappointed to say...I've got nothing. Should have known it wasn't for real since it started at night and that doesn't appear to be my typical pattern. Didn't get much sleep lastnight, but was able to make up for it a bit this am and will go lay down again in a few while the other kids nap. Thanks for thinking of me....it may just be someone else first! Perhaps we will go for a walk after dh gets home from work - that always seems to help!

I am oh, so ready. I am 37 weeks today, I have had no mucus plug in weeks
( little pieces a few weeks ago)I was 1-2cm and at -2 station last week. My cervix was still very firm. I go in the morning but i dont know if i am going to even let her check me,why risk infection.I still have contractions ALL THE FLIPPING TIME! Plus tons more pressure and some cramping in my thigh.

I have picked out a couple of pain-free birth stories to read over and over
Funny thing... when I was in HS, my whole family got the stomach flu, one after the other. Every weekend, a different person on the couch. I kept telling them that it wasn't that bad, stop whining, etc. They were like, it's your turn next...

The fourth weekend came around and I didn't get sick. Everyone was soooo mad at me...

So, back on topic, I'm at about 35w3d and no BH or anything, so I'm thinking not-so-much... I'm definately not sitting at the head table for this buffet line...

I'm due on June 15 but wouldn't mind going early. My DS #2's birthday is June 7 (his due date was june 16) and I'd rather not have children with the same birthday, not that I have a choice in the matter.

I'm supposed to graduate from a Leadership program on June 8 and would like to attend -- carrying my new baby in a sling -- but I'm still very high (and very uncomfortable) so I think I'll be carrying this baby internally for a while longer.

How far will you all travel right now? I'd love to take my sons on some field trips in the next week or two.

Well, paint me pink and call me a hot dog because I am STILL pregnant! I was just SURE I was in labor on Saturday!! I even called DH who was out running errands and told him to come home and skip his friends' wedding that night!

Even though the ctxns were around 5min apart for 3 hours, and I had LOTS of mucous (no blood tho), LOTS of cervical twinges, lots of menstrual cramps, and I swear I even felt the baby's head engage (that was freaky), I still didn't go into labor.

Sunday, the ctxns picked up again in the afternoon, but they disappeared completely around 9pm.

This morning, lots of PAINFUL ctxns! DH took one look at me and said, "I am definitely not going to work!" TMI WARNING: Turns out I just needed to have a monumental BM, and then everything stopped again

I've got 18 more days, and #2 was 11 days early so... put me in, Coach!

I SOOOOO need to give birth to this child ... I am a mess, exhausted, and DONE!!! Today I have been yelling at my poor boys. Their behavior hasn't been great, but normally it wouldn't be an issue. I just sat my 2 1/2 yo and my almost 5 yo on the couch to lecture them ... I seriously need help. Please baby, you can be born now.

Perhaps I can move back to the front of the line? I spent most of the day sleeping since last night I didn't and now here it is 3 am and I am up contracting again. The contractions aren't really keeping me awake, but I am feeling like this is more labor than last night. Tonight I have seen some mucus and bloody show and these contractions are very achy feeling. We went on a walk tonight (pre-labor ritual) and then had a little "couple time." Immediately after, I began contracting. With ds, we had sex and then almost immediately the bloody show began, followed by contractions and a baby the next day. I could probably get some sleep if I wasn't stressed about all that I need to get done once it is daylight....dog to vet (so he doesn't annoy me in labor), snack stuff from store for birth attendants while I labor, what I'm going to eat for breakfast, dd needs a swimsuit for a school thing on Wed., etc. I'm so type-A, it's amazing I can even give birth!

I had my appointment yesterday. I wanted to be checked because I'm crazy like that. No I really just wanted to know. I am a 2! I will be 38 weeks tomorrow. I am on the same path I was with my last. I was 5 before labor started. It was really fast, so I need to be prepared. My dh is scared to death he will be delivering this baby

Heartburn sucks. I twisted my knee yesterday. Today is my last day at work. I only worked once a week at my children's preschool but it was starting to get old a month ago.

So, I'm sticking to the fact that I probably have 3 more weeks left. I can do it.

My maternity leave starts June 1 but my due date isn't till June 15. I'm not sure if I'll be bored and stir crazy not working and waiting for the new person to arrive.

My 38 week appointment was yesterday and my cervix is very soft and effaced but posterior. Lots of pressure and sometimes pain, and my round ligament is killing me on my right side. Overall I feel good, though, and have some braxton hicks but not many. Though with my first I was feeling totally fine (just very pregnant) up until the day he was born...

Thinking of you, Nichole On another thread I mentioned that my doc doesn't like the term "false labor" but likes to think of it as "pre" labor because saying "false" makes moms feel like it isn't accomplishing anything. Everything contrax is doing something to help your body get ready for this baby .... here's hoping that you've gone through enough pre-labor this week and are ready for some baby-having action! Sending gentle labor vibes :::::::::

Coco - so sorry about your knee. That sounds painful

I'm still walking around at 2cm, feeling normal in every way (well, you know, as normal as a 9 month pregnant woman feels ) I have an appt. tomorrow so we'll see if there is any more progress.

Best Wishes, mamas! CAn't wait to see who goes next

Last week my OB said I wasn't dialated, but my cervix is soft. Baby is posterior. I'm ready, but I know this guy needs to cook a bit longer. Everyone is sitting on the edge of their charis waiting for the phone call. My mom calls everyday to ask if I'm ok. I'm a little scared b/c DH works about 2 hours away and my mom is 45 minutes away. My dad is also on call, but 45-1 1/2 hours away. Last night we all discussed what we all need to do when I go into labor. My sister is also very close by and a paramedic so she is ready! I don't know too many people well enough nearby that I would trust to watch DD so I'm a bit scared!

Good luck mamas!

Lisa, sounds stressful! I remember that, with both my first two, I sort of had that funny "feeling" when things were gearing up. Both times I was able to tell DH not to go into work that day, and everything went ok. I'm sure you'll be fine too!!

I know the feeling!! Everyone around me is SOOO ready for this baby to be here. We had a small scare with some possible amino fluid leaking but turned out to be fine... Everyone was SOOO dissapointed though... Now I get calls everyday wanting to know how things are progressing... Every time I say braxton hicks my mom says... are you sure they aren't contractions?? Man, I hope so!! I want to make it until Wednesday of next week and then I'm up for anytime. (we are moving into our house Monday & Tuesday) I'm hoping the move throws me into labor... God that would be SWEEEEEEEEEETTTT!!!
I've had LOTS of contractions the last two days so maybe they will check me when I go into the doctors on Thursday... I would really like to be told I'm at like 4cm. That gives me hope that I'll go before my due date! We are all terrible... wanting these babies here so soon...

Ohhhh just shoot us for being selfish...

I'm almost 38 weeks, but my MW doesn't check unless I ask... and I haven't asked. We all think (of course with no basis) that baby will come in about 3 weeks. Lots of BH, but nothing that I'd think was labor. So.. I'm feeling good, and waiting.

THinking of you Nichol!

My mw doesn't check either ... and I wouldn't have her do so even if she asked ... with both boys I didn't dilate until I went into labor. I've checked myself a couple times, but more to get an idea of where the cervix is, what it feels like at different stages of getting-ready-for-labor, etc. Assuming what I've found is my cervix , it's closed but almost flat (was more rose bud like) and very very soft. So, the EPO and the sex must be helping! This baby is very low and I am getting a lot of pressure very low (can feel it through the birth canal to the labia and also in my rear ). I'm also physically feeling very spent ... my muscles are tired in my arms and legs and back ... probably just from running around after a 2 1/2 yo and an almost 5 yo while lugging around an extra 40 pounds or so. I still would be shocked if this baby came any other time than between the 1st and 3rd of June, but would love it to be early. My mom keeps saying I'll have him/her on the 26th as that is my dad's birthday ... it'd save me from having to try to think of something to get a guy that basically has anything he needs and has very few wants (except for a grandDAUGHTER - all boys so far). Hey, maybe it's a girl and she'll be born on his birthday ... what a great idea! Okay, I'm going to be for a girl on the 26th!
