This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

The MGM bill and the fight to get the FGM bill deemed unconstitutional on the grounds that it doesn't allow equal protection are my personal fights.

Hmm...I'd like to think that Mr. O'Donnell's projections are accurate (and hope that they will be), but somehow I think that the 2005 rate probably wasn't 50 percent...but I think it will be by about 2010. I also am not sure rates will fall as fast as they rise (it's easier to convince people to start a tradition of something than to convince them to end it).
Interesting stuff though. It's also interesting to see how, despite the quick fall in infant circs, even this liberal projection won't see the rate hitting 50 percent for all Americans for another 35 years or so.
It's also interesting to see how the circ rate continues to decline even though the circumcision rate among the population now in their twenties is around 78%, the highest it ever has been and ever will be. If this follows, the circ rate might very well plummet. If it's fallen in the past few years, imagine how it will fall as the corresponding parental circ rate does.

Edit: No wait, nevermind. I see what you mean, rate of circumcisions, ratio of circumcised men. *nods* I see.

On the link I just scrolled down to see the projection (I don't want to read much right now- including long posts
)-- -I found it interesting that the rates were approx what I was thinking in my head just last nigh (up to 2020). I was thinking that by the time my infant son is in highschool RIC would be about 30% and his class mates would be about 50-50 circed (or maybe a little more) and the intact boys will be the ones making fun if anyone makes fun in the locker room. Then the rate will plummet. I am working on very little sleep right now and this now sounds silly

To be honest I am utterly opposed to any form of capitulation to bullying, especially of the speculative potential variety that occurs before teasing has even began but if it is an incentive for parents to avoid removing part's of their son's genitals without consent then that can only be a beneficial occurance.
