The new "soothie bottle"

Thread Starter
I was in a store the other day, and I saw this bottle, called "soothie" bottle, made to feel just like the soothie pacifiers that the baby takes in the hospital.

It said something to the just of: same shape and feel of hospital provided soothie. and, less nipple confusion between pacifier and bottle, or some such nonsense.

For some reason, the whole thing just ticks me off. :

I guess it's because the makers don't seem to be concerned with making a bottle to closely simulate mother's breast/nipple shape, but rather seems to be working diligiently to match the shape of the bottle to some pacifier that babe is used to.

Plenty of bottles already claim to be "just like breastfeeding."

What ticks me off is that hospitals would be providing pacifiers on a regular basis, such that some babies might have nipple confusion with *bottles*. What does that say for how well a baby could latch on?:
