Can I freeze red wine for future cooking use?

Hi, what may be a "stupid" question from a non-drinker......can I freeze red wine for future use in cooking? I didn't have any red cooking wine to make a crock pot recipe today, but I remembered that we had a bottle of unopened red wine from the last time some family was visiting. I only used 1/2 cup, and I'm wondering if I can freeze the rest for future cooking use? Thanks for the input!!

It's kinda hard to freeze (alcohol content) but I think it will at least slush eventually.
Unless you plan to go a long time between uses the fridge should do.

In the future you could also buy a boxed wine when company comes. Some are quite drinkable, and then you can use the boxed stuff for cooking for a long time!

It will keep forever in the fridge, I wouldn't bother.

Thank you! I'll just keep it in the fridge. Great idea about the boxed wine, although my dad always brings his own (good stuff, I guess), as he knows I won't have it! I'm sure he would just cringe if he knew I used it in a crock pot recipe.....
