"Are you doing that one thing?"

That "one thing" being feeding my daughter. We were at a bbq yesterday for dh's friends fiancee. I was holding dd, feeding her and he asked if she was crashed out. I said "no, she's eating, but she's going to fall asleep any second." He got all red and asked, "Are you doing that one thing?" I said, "what, feeding her?" He was so flustered and couldn't even look in my direction. He was ridiculed by the rest of the people we were sitting with, including my dh. When his fiancee came back around I told her he was scared of my boob and she told him he better get used to it (they plan on having kids pretty quickly). He was so freaked out, it was kind of fun

to the fiance!

Reminds me of when my sister's (now-ex) boyfriend got all flustered when I started nursing...stopped midsentence and everything. She was great "What, Mike? You OK? What's the matter?" all wide-eyed like he was choking or something.

Fortunatly, for most guys I think it IS easy to get over.

After pregnancy, contractions, birth, diapers, first night, etc. etc. I don't think a little boobie is going to be an issue, lol. The induction into fatherhood can bey quite rough, by day 3 father's are pretty unlikely to have the energy to bat an eye at nursing.

There is hope out there.

We wakeboard with a young guy who did not even blink, avert his eyes or even do ANYTHING that made me think he even noticed I was nursing my 18 month old, flopped out of my swimsuit.

Yay! That's so encouraging.

And I like the fiancee's comeback.

I love that his sweetie told him to get over it. That was a good way to tell him.
