Whitney -
I took this class in the Denver area before my DD was born. My husband and I really enjoyed it. (Well, maybe I enjoyed it a little more than him - you know how guys are

)
What I loved about it was that I came away feeling totally educated. Our instructors explained to us ALL the possible interventions that might happen at a hospital, as well as alternatives to each if we didn't want to use them. Also, we were told what our rights were as far as what we had to submit to, and what we didn't. The instructors were also doulas who attended home births, so we talked about the entire spectrum of possible birth experiences. And there was no judgement about anyone's choices (epidural/no epidural, etc). It was great. I had a chance to really prepare myself for the kind of birth that I wanted.
I'm assuming you've looked at their website (birthworks.org) already.
Safe to say, I'm a fan
