LLL & Breastfeeding mentioned on "Pepper Dennis"

I am probably the only person who watches this show.

But I just saw the most recent episode and there was a scene where the receptionist has come back to work and she is breastfeeding her baby in an office. The male anchor at the TV news station along with Pepper Dennis, walks in on the receptionist breastfeeding. He is looking at her nurse and she snaps at him, asking what he is staring at. He tells her that her that the baby isn't latched on correctly and then he goes over and shows her how to bring the baby to the breast instead of the other way around. Pepper Dennis is looking at him all amazed and he explains "My mother was the leader of the Ottawa chapter of La Leche League. She always taught me breast was best."

It was great, because Pepper is always trying to compete with this guy but he always seems to know everything. I thought the shout-out to LLL was so cool.

Sounds awesome, and just because a guy is looking doesn't mean he's getting off on it.

I posted this on another board and was going to post it here also.

That was by far the best reference to breastfeeding that I have ever seen on tv and so positive!

My DH always notices if someone's nursing (usually before me, too) and looks. He's certainly not a perv, just a dad who thinks more moms should BF...and isn't shy about saying so!!
Men can definatly appreciate nursing.
Oh...I have never heard of the show either...

I cant stand the show either, but got all smiley when that happened. I looked up from the computer (TV makes good background noise, I dont think I ever really watch it... just absorb it through osmosis) and smiled and laughed, DH thought it was a trip and asked me if he was right.

I love it when stuff like this happens on TV. It makes it seem more natural. Apparntly one of the people on Judging Amy (my DADS favorite show ) had a water birth or something!! On TV!!! Isn't that crazy? He said it made him feel more at ease about me giving bith not at a hospital!

That is awesome!! My dh is becoming a lactivist as well, although no where near what I am. But if he sees a woman breastfeeding in public he will always point it out to me. On 2 different occasions I have found him educating adoptive moms about breastfeeding. I hope my sons grow up to be lactivists.

I've nevery seen that show, but that is sooooo great! I reminds me of my chiropractor: I called him when ds was about 12 days old, because he had a terrible latch and my mw said his jaw might need to be adjusted. He had already seen ds, so he said that he just wasn't opening his mouth enough, and he proceeded to give me all of these instuctions over the phone on how to nurse ds. It was so funny, because you don't really expect a man to know a whole lot about what to do, let alone go into full detail, and he's my chiro, not our ped or anything! It was great, and I love telling people this story!
