Pants woes :(

Right, so with my son I didn't show like AT ALL until really late. I started out a 10, and wore those pants until I started a new job (unemployed for awhile) at 20w and found my jeans were poking me a bit since I sit all day long pretty much.

I went and bought a pair of size 12 jeans and wore those until 30w when I started wearing maternity clothes offically. I bough ONE pair of gap size 12 maternity because i'd gained like 60lbs by then. Eep.

The size bigger thing was HUGE on me though, and they were falling off and giving me some serious droopy drawers, but since I didn't announce my preg until 25w or so (i'd just been hired!) I needed to wait...

Sorta the same situation now, I don't want to let the bird out of the cage yet, as my boss has TOLD me several times he would fire me if I was pregnant again

My pre-preg jeans (size 8 gap, I love they actually make long enough pants for me now!!) are fitting, but really starting to dig into my non-existant belly when curled up at my desk. I just had to unzip my pants because i was having some painful tummy cramps.

I'm definately not showing yet though, just a little rounder...
(way earlier than last time...lol)

I found and bought a pair of the underbelly gap maternity pants, size 8...from ebay NWT. unfortunately my USPS has decided to play games with me (long story) and they have misplaced my package. Who knows if I will ever get it, or when

I can't fathom paying yet another 20 bucks (I got them cheap!) even, let alone 60 for another pair of size 8 maternity pants...I'm thinking at the least i'll need 10s when I do POP....
the 8s arn't TIGHT, but there isn't a huge ammt of room in the tush and such, and with my son my tush doubled!! (I Loved every minute of it too...teehee)

NO WAY 10s would fit now though, the 8s barely stay on...

I have some bigger pants, 10s and 12 (the pair from my son's preg) but the 10s are snugger in the hips than my current pants for some reason, and won't work....the 12s were huge when I was bigger...so no.

ARRGG...I dunno what to do. I could have worn the size 8s okay....but I don't want to re-buy them, esp since i'll have 2 pair then and I only have 2 pair of my regular non-preg jeans!! I'm cheap!!

*sigh*

The rubberband trick doesn't work well, my pants are low-rise, and I can't go the belly-belt route because I don't have shirts long enough to cover my button, let alone my zipper that arn't obviously maternity...

I'm frustrated...at the end of like 2 days wear I can PULL the 8s off without unbuttoning them, but they are still digging into my little belly (very little) enough to cause cramping even!

Do you have a resale store like Once Upon a Child in your area? I went there to stock up on maternity pants and you can get them on the cheap. Maternity pants and long shirts will get you by till the end of the summer!

First of all, it is ILLEGAL for your boss to fire you for being pregnant. If he does, hire a lawyer. You'll win and he will pay a huge fine to boot.

Resale shops do generally have good deals on maternity clothes. Around here maternity clothes get passed around groups of women. You'd be a maternity medium, a pretty common size. Do you know any women who have been pregnant in the last couple of years who might loan you some clothes?

shenandoah,
My few local friends are all smalls or larges, and are generally like 6" shorter than me :

And yes, it's illegal to fire someone specifically for being pregnant, however texas is a "at-will" state, which means they can fire you without warning, and for any bogus reason (or no reason at all) they want.
I'd need audio AND written statments saying "you are being fired for being pregnant" which is idiotic, when they could just fire me and say "toodles" and give me no further reasons.
I've had it happen before (for no reason I mean)

AND my company is a lawfirm. I'd be in court for YEARS. I've actually called local employment attys, and they've told me the same thing....unless I somehow got something IN WRITING saying I was being fired for pregnancy...i'd have no case whatsoever.
Even if I did, i'd be tied up in court for YEARS over it. Hardly worth the hassle

Did I mention texas employment laws suck? because they do.

I used to live in illinois (until I was 20 almost 21) and the employment law there was completely different, and NORMAL. you needed both verbal and 3 written warnings for violations of company policy...etc etc.

Nothing like texas :
